This video demos the device registration feature. A CEMS site is not typically available to the whole internet for security reasons. Usually a CEMS site is locked down to an organization's IP domain. Unfortunately this makes it hard for your users to access UNHCEMS from home or through their cellular networks. UNHCEMS now supports device registration. Device registration allows users to request that an administrator approve an individual device for use outside of the normal allowed networks. This video demonstrates what a user sees when they are denied access and when they fill out the request form. It also demos the process an administrator takes to approve a device. After the device is approved, the video will show that the requesting user is then allowed access.

I had a site contact me today about keeping closer tabs on pyrophoric chemicals. This is something UNHCEMS can help with. Administrators can manage hazards associated with a CAS number by opening the CAS record. Click manage data object -> Chemicals -> CAS to view your CAS records. You can open existing CAS records or create new ones by click the new button on the top of the recordset. These hazards will be listed throughout UNHCEMS for all chemical inventory which contains the CAS number. Because CAS numbers are managed through the chemical record, you don't need to manually assign these hazards to each container record or chemical record.

As of 2.0.48, UNHCEMS now supports Expired Chemical Inventory alerts. This new function is disabled by default.  When enabled, UNHCEMS will alert users when the current date exceeds the expiration date of their chemical inventory. When a user has inventory that is expired, the system will ask the user to either generate a waste removal request or request an extension. Administrators can then review extension requests and either approve or deny them.

To enable the dashboard alerts, open your dashboard items and remove the [Is Disabled] filter. Then add a filter for [Unique Key] contains "expiredcontainer". Edit each record to enable the alerts.

To enable automatic email notification, open your scheduled tasks. Open the the "Expired Chemical Inventory Notification" task. Set Is Disabled to "N". Click "save".

The default extension is 365 days. You can override by editing the  EXPIRED_CONTAINER_EXTENSION_DAYS global variable.
