Many years ago those tech companies were deemed to be so much more valuable then anything we can imagine now. This times its different, general market is not at those levels of over valuation (except Tesla) but is looks to be tired now. Maybe Greece will rear its ugly head again.

Amazon and its competitors are already engaged in a vicious price war that is driving down the cost of cloud storage and obliterating margins and profits in this business.

The history of technology is filled with case studies of creative destruction, which is why even with its current success Microsoft's current market cap of $393 billion is 31.6% lower than what it was in 2000.

Other tech giants tell the same story…

Cisco Systems Inc.'s (NASDAQ: CSCO)'s market cap is $147 billion today compared to $466 billion then; Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) is worth $152 billion versus $401 in 2000; and Oracle Corp. (NYSE: ORCL) is worth $188 billion today compared with $232 billion during the Internet Bubble.

While all of these companies have made enormous business and technological strides over the past decade-and-a-half, they have moved backwards in market terms.

Brick chimney to the sky, much scaffolding was needed.

Birdsboro Steel Foundry and Machine Co.
Birdsboro, Pennsylvania
(Note: 22 miles from Admin's Current Location)

The origin of this structure begins with a history of steel making in 1740, when an entrepreneur named William Bird constructed several iron forges where the Schuylkill River met with Hay Creek; an area that would later on become Birdsboro, named in William Bird's honor. The company expanded greatly over the years as the demands for iron, and subsequently steel, rose during the wartime. During World War II, the government expressed an interest in acquiring steel for the U.S. Navy from The Birdsboro Steel Foundry and Machine Company. In response to winning this contract, this large steel mill was constructed in 1944, consisting of nine massive bays reaching up to 1,480 feet long and 50 feet high. Soon, the role of the plant shifted to manufacturing tanks for the Army, and the name of the plant was known as Armorcast. Sherman and Patton model tanks were the main product of the plant from World War II through the Korean War.
In 1975, Armorcast failed to win a government contract to continue production, and the plant was closed in 1988 after a lengthy strike. A few businesses still operated within the space until 2002, when a five-alarm fire broke out, damaging the building. It then appeared to have been used as a junkyard for some time until plans were made to demolish the structure. The site is now known as the Armorcast Redevelopment Area.

Just doing my small part to help the government help folks with programs from HUD, EBT cards from DOA. Worked wonders in Baltimore , Detroit & Ferguson. Gives one a warm and fuzzy feeling, money well spent.

The most disgusting aspect of the climate change debate is the statements by many that it’s settled science. There is nothing more anti-scientific than the idea that any science is settled. Very often we find that the half-life of many scientific ideas is about 50 years. For academics to not criticize their colleagues and politicians for suggesting that scientific ideas are not subject to challenge is the height of academic dishonesty.
A MINORITY VIEW. BY WALTER E. WILLIAMS. RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2015. Global Warming. “But the debate is settled. Climate change is a fact,” said President Barack Obama in his 2014 State of the Union address. Saying the debate is settled is nonsense, but the president is right about ...

Stop stealing stuff and you won't get letters from Walmart.
The civil recovery process ensnares people who are suspected of stealing small amounts of merchandise -- even by small claims court standards. These people face criminal charges regardless of the civil claim....

Have an older BMW rt1100, It was getting new brakes pads at another bike shop on rte 30 in Frazier When they were testing\bleeding it the front brake line burst. They wanted an outrageous labor charge to do repair using a line kit that I had to find and order for it. Well no thanks, called Chester Cycle, they picked it up and fixed it at 1\3 of what other shop wanted. Will bring it to them for all future service. John "knows his stuff" , they have a well deserved good reputation.
