This man played for the new England Patriots , had a career year at NO. He is a great player and person. Class act all the way.

Squaw need stickum to tanning hides and cooking corn, leave wampum to braves
We should not quarrel with Senator Warren’s stated goal of protecting the least powerful in society, but we should take issue with many of Senator Warren’s proposed strategies to achieve her stated goal - because they don’t work.

Wonder what the urban institution had to say about this back in 2014? 💸 💵 💲 Oops they may been wrong.

Conclusions
Based on historical patterns for the DC metro area and an analysis of workers in the food service industry
nationwide, we find little evidence that even a substantial increase in minimum wages in DC would result
in lower employment. Our estimates of the relationship are imprecise, however, and we cannot rule out
modest negative impacts, of perhaps half-a-percent drop in affected industry employment for each ten
percent increase in the minimum wage. To date, minimum wage changes have operated in a very low
range of the wage distribution so that very few people should be affected by the policy, even under the
traditional theories that predict negative employment impacts. If minimum wages were instead raised
above the 20th percentile of areawide wages, larger impacts could result.
Although there is little evidence to suggest an increase in the minimum wage would affect
employment, there is a large amount of evidence that minimum wage changes over the 1990 to 2006
period had substantial effects on average weekly earnings. In many cases, an increase in average weekly
wages will dramatically increase family incomes. Acs and colleagues (2014) analyze the impacts of
increased earnings associated with increased DC minimum wages and find that the typical worker will
take home about half of the annual earnings increase. That paper suggests that only a small proportion of
affected workers lose a large proportion of their increased earnings to additional taxes or reduced
benefits, and even those workers are plausibly better off with higher wages.
Extra net earnings for affected workers could result in part from higher productivity of workers who
are better compensated, but there could also be unmeasured negative impacts on the owners of capital, as
firms earn lower profits when labor costs are higher. The experience of San Francisco between 2004 and
2011 suggests that raising the minimum wage may contribute to a small rise in prices in the food service
industry of about 2.8 percent (Reich, Jacobs, and Dietz 2014). We do not model losses of profits or
increased prices, but focus exclusively on the employment and earnings effects of the new minimum wage
policy in DC. Employment effects are plausibly negligibly small, and earnings effects are likely large and
The District of Columbia has seen the minimum wage increase from $8.25 an hour in 2014 to a rate of $11.50 an hour today, and just yesterday an increase to $15 an hour was approved. According to a report from the Employment Policies Institute, nearly half of Washington, DC employers said they have either laid off employees or reduced the hours of employees to adapt to the District of Columbia's minimum wage hikes since 2014. Washington, DC is val...

As the Puerto Rican girls sang in West Side Story everything is free in America everything is free in America looks like Puerto Rico is not doing so good, same thing with President triple Bogies policy
Yes, Donald Trump may well need some tutoring on the issues. But better a few stray tweets than the incredulous whoppers being served up by the current incumbent.

President 4-putt can't break 120, thinks he's done a splendid job. Just like Carl from caddy shack hitting flowers , it's a Cinderella story.

Nearing the end of his presidency,  glorious leader Obama came out today in what was hailed his "economic victory lap."

Ray's New Practical Arithmetic
by Joseph Ray

In 19th century America, Joseph Ray was the McGuffey of arithmetic. His textbooks, used throughout the United States, laid the mathematical foundations for the generations of inventors, engineers, and businessmen who would make the nation a world power.

This volume reviews basic arithmetic skills and carries them to high levels. Also covers topics of measurement, factoring, decimals, percentage, ratio, proportion, powers, roots, and geometry. For grades 5 and 6. Good mastery of this book takes a child higher than a usual grade 6 level.

4 years working at wawa or bucees likely better then spending 250k on degree from a phony baloney liberal arts college

Here’s a fun fact: The median salary for a women’s-studies professor is more than a hundred grand a year. The average hourly earnings for a graduate with a women’s-studies degree? Eleven bucks an hour, well less than you’d make working the car wash at Buc-ee’s. Here endeth the lesson.

Why does this gas station pay so well?

When foreigners go aboard they have a hard time adjusting. I often hear "That's not how we do it in my country." Well, no, but that doesn't always mean better it is just different than what you are use too.

A broken down air conditioner gave me the idea for the story but I think the gotcha god were watching. A few hours after I published this article my cable TV went out. Then a few hours later, my internet went down for about 18 hours.

I couldn't help myself but to think, if this was the USA,. this stuff would get fixed fast. haha. I'm guilty of it too but I try not to stay it outloud.

I'm glad things are so different, even after 8 years, I find a new adventure nearly every day. Just outside my door. :)

Thought $700 estimate was a bit high to change brake lines, especially when I bought the parts myself. Another dealer installed for $220. Not to mention a few missed appointments, this maybe a service place of last resort.

Standalone Chinese restaurant in front of strip mall on route 19 place was empty. when we went in there we got the menu from the owner my wife asked him what you recommend, what do you recommend ? Chinese girl sitting at the table barked some Fukian at him and he said " its all good." OK thats enough for me! She ended up working behind the counter with her brother They have every combo of beef, chicken, pork shrimp rice all sorts of appetizers. We ordered a large beef with broccoli, beef lo mein and chicken teriyaki with fried rice . It came out in about 15 minutes during that time a few other people came in, which was a good sign. The beef lo mein was good , had fresh beef and properly cooked\ fried noodles. The thicken teriyaki had good vegetables, broccoli, carrot mushroom , and even some Chinese bamboo. The beef and broccoli was a bit oily and had some very heavy brown gravy the fried rice was good had roast pork in it some small vegetables, rice wasn't overloaded with soy sauce. all in all a very good value, massive portions $22 could have fed 8 people recommend this place

Have an older BMW rt1100, It was getting new brakes pads at another bike shop on rte 30 in Frazier When they were testing\bleeding it the front brake line burst. They wanted an outrageous labor charge to do repair using a line kit that I had to find and order for it. Well no thanks, called Chester Cycle, they picked it up and fixed it at 1\3 of what other shop wanted. Will bring it to them for all future service. John "knows his stuff" , they have a well deserved good reputation.
