A blog reader (a mom) had asked in response to my first article in the Unschooling Series:

“What about kids whose parents (like me) are not passionate about anything? I don’t expect of my kid too but I really want to give this kind of environment to her."

Here're my thoughts to her question.

I was sorry for her hurt. And that's an understatement. It's heart-wrenching for a mother to see pain in those sparkly, trusting eyes. I was feeling for her and was trying hard to hold the space for her - I wasn't intervening in her cry, wasn't stopping her from yelling.

Yet, I could not help but feel awe-struck by the immeasurable beauty in that scene....

The story behind her photo/art. Pari, my unschooling daughter, is starting a series (of blog posts) in which she'll share the idea, the inspiration, the story and the chaos behind her instagram pictures.

Today was the first story. (For the past couple of months, she's doing this new style of photography, where she stylizes her scenes from scratch. She's also following a colour theme.)

“We meet ourselves time and again in a thousand disguises on the path of life.”

I met my higher self – my most joyful, creative, mindful and peaceful self – during my second pregnancy. Not just during those nine months but much before that. Even before I conceived my second child, my spirit was getting into a space of wanting that child from deep within.

I love sharing ideas and collaborating.  It really does help to have conversations with other parents!  Sometimes it feels like I barely speak to anyone other than my kids.   I love them, but really need that adult interaction too.  :)

After the 'Goa Quiz', here's a 'Coffee Quiz' Pari's hosting on her blog. So, whether you start your day with coffee or not, you can end your day with this little brainstorm about coffee.
Oh look, it's Coffee O' clock!

The Spiritual Aspect of Unschooling. (#3 in my Unschooling series).

"A child who is growing up to be fiercely independent, with a mind and heart of her own, does not hesitate to seek my opinion when she feels like and does not feel the need to agree with me most of the times because she knows she can simply be. Very unique from me. She’s already carved out her own identity that looks very little like mine."

"Isn’t it a fundamental human right of the pregnant woman to be respected as the decision maker for her own care and her baby’s care?

Instead, the health care systems, all around the world treat pregnant women like patients, subjecting them to interventions, procedures and check-ups without their informed consent. Many, many women come out of such experiences feeling violated, abused and traumatized. But, often keep their mouth shut either out of fear or out of ignorance. Often, they don’t even know birthing their child with dignity is their fundamental human right. "
