Sharpen Your Positive Edge: Shifting Your Thoughts for More Positivity and Success by Tina Hallis is a non-fiction book on how to change one’s mindset and incorporate positivity in daily life. The book starts off with a short introduction on how we, as human beings, are naturally wired to anticipate the negative due to our evolutionary history of survival in extreme conditions. Tina states that, with training and tips, one can condition one’s mind to reflect and focus on the positive things rather than the negative. She then presents 80 broad points on ways and techniques to do this, some of which include cultivating better relationships, importance of social connections and friendships, health, communicating positively, the power of dreams and imagination, the importance of gratitude, breathing techniques, focusing on happiness and well-being, and much more. Each of these 80 short sections is followed by a question or exercise for the reader.
