Howdy,
Many of you may have noticed that our website and Gerrit have gone down. There are rumours that this is us preparing for release however it is actually more of a hinderance - Our funds have run dry & bills are piling up.
We are extremely close to releasing however we are now stumped as we cannot continue developing until our servers are back online. This is when we would like to turn to you, our (potential) users and ask for your help in our comeback.
If you feel you could help us in any way please get in touch via the Official Community or via our Telegram Group or visit our PayPal page below.

Space Oddity
We are now reaching our server capacity. While we are not big fans of monetization and/or asking for donations, but with the all the device support requests and our desire to work on more and more devices, we are having to look at ways to be able to provide continued support.
Currently, we are looking to expand our infrastructure. To do this, we have no other choice but to accept donations/infrastructure contributions.
If you think this is something you could help us with, please contact us by replying below and weâll reach out to you personally. You can send us a message too if you happen to know anyone on the team.
Sources
Kernel and most platform sources are already online. The rest of platform and the device specific sources will go online within a week from now.
Future
We are currently considering this as our last major update for Nougat and we are shifting our focus to Android Oreo now. If we happen to work on any critical bugs, you can expect to see more updates. Otherwise, we think weâre solid!

Being more transparent
Firstly, weâd like to thank every one of you for your support - specially the donors who have helped us continue working on the project and therefore keeping it afloat. We couldnât ask for a better community.
We haven't been sufficiently open with the community and itâs time to change that. To help achieve this we will be straightforward about whatâs going on, whatâs to come and try to keep you up to date about potential development cycles, respective news and more as much as possible.
Current status
- We are working internally on getting our features bug free (Oreo)
- We are finalising the work on our device trees for our initial release
- We are preparing to push all of our sources open on GitHub
- Moving onto Pie
As part of becoming more transparent, we feel we should be letting our community be a part of the product itself. One big thing that weâre doing is having our sources available publicly - help us make Paranoid Android even better!
Oh and we have a new website! Thanks to our shiny new member +Andrew Fluck, weâve been able to design and build the website from ground up.
Oreo Builds
Some of you may know CAF dropped support for Oreo. We managed to get the system in a stable state a while back however we werenât satisfied enough to release due to the lack of feature support and active developers.
Paranoid Android was built on the foundation of a strong developer community, lacking which we donât have much to offer on the Oreo release however if you prefer a nice, clean experience â go ahead and get it up and running.
OnePlus 3/3T and 5/5T - https://goo.gl/5t4zDd
Xperia X, X Compact, XZ Premium, XZ1 and XZ1 - https://goo.gl/V4uRux
Pie
This is our main objective now. Oreo builds are out and discontinued as weâre busy working on Pie bringup, as mentioned earlier anyone is free to build PA Oreo as sources are to be released. About Pie, weâve gotten close and are working to get it up to a stable state.
Roll call
To follow on with this we would also like to make a call for anyone who is interested in helping us with development of our features and improving our UI. Currently we are lacking developers having experience working with frameworks and we feel we need a boost in this area. With having our sources publicly available anyone is free to contribute.
Community fix
Join our Discord to actively be in touch with the project, developers and the community: https://discord.gg/2WRYJX. We're almost always around and it's good fun too!

PA + Substratum
We are proud to announce that we have teamed up with the folks at Substratum. We have a few things planned with them that we hope will be beneficial to all of our users.
Our main goal is to bring a more seamless theming experience to AOSPA which will allow you to customise the look and feel of your device easily without going through a plethora of menus and options. With our reputation of wanting to release something that is well polished and to a professional standard, we believe that this partnership will provide our users with what they know of PA and trust.
Weâre planning to develop an entirely new theming section with the great UI/UX you can come to expect from PA.

FOSS all the things!
Weâre finally releasing the secret recipe for all of our features.
This includes Pie, Color Engine, Pocket Lock, Swiping Screenshot and Accidental Touch meaning all of you can have feature packed unofficial builds for your devices. We hadnât done this already as we werenât convinced enough that everything is polished the Paranoid Android way but weâre glad to say that it is now.
This gives you all the ability to play around with everything that makes PA different from anything else out there and we invite you to help us fix and also improve our features by contributing to our Gerrit.
