Drivability and Diagnostics

Date : Jan 21, 2006
Vehicle : 1998 Ford Expedition, Engine ; 5.4L, Odometer : 110K

Symptom : Customer states heater is not working.
Diagnostics : Heater works intermittently. Sometimes blowing air temperature reaches 95F, but sometimes dropped to 75F, and cold and hot air was mixed.

We found A/C Blend door's connecting part(female) with A/C Electric Blend door Actuator was broken. Blend door should be replaced, but FORD sells whole 'A/C and Heater control Unit', NOT Blend door only! Part price is over $600......

Customer can't afford it. I am really sorry about that.
