Assuming they can be "dark and gritty" without being unintentionally goofy, I'm all for some superhero movies with adults acting sort of like adults and not snappy teenagers quipping at each other.
It also doesn't make Man of Steel any less shitty, but I like that they are explaining all the massive amount of damage caused in the movie and making it a central conflict. I wonder if that idea came first, or they realized how stupid it looked with Superman destroying everything that they decided to build the new movies around it? Whoever had the foresight to do it, A+.
