What is Swedish massage & Deep Tissue massage?

Swedish Massage & Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage

Swedish massage is the most widely recognized and commonly used type of massage. The techniques used vary from light to vigorous and used five styles of strokes. The five basic stroked are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber or with the fibers), and vibration. Swedish massage has been known to be helpful in reducing pain and joint stiffness.

Therapeutic deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones, and joints). The benefits include a drop in blood pressure, reduction in stress and hormone levels, while boosting heart rate and mood.

GIVE  THANKS FOR OTHERS…AND YORSELF!

In the month of November, we should dedicate ourselves to being thankful. Thankfulness is defined as a feeling or expression of gratitude or appreciation. We should not only be thankful for others and the blessing bestowed upon us, but also for ourselves. Oftentimes we spend so much time making sure other people know that we appreciate them that we forget to appreciate ourselves. There are many ways to show that we are thankful and during this month, it is the prime time to display this appreciation.

3 Ways to Show Thankfulness:
Create a gratitude ritual.
For example, close your eyes and take a couple of minutes to think of the people and things that you are grateful for.

Send a thank-you note.
It only takes a minute to let a person know that they have affected your life in a positive way by sending a thank you for something that they helped you with or did for you.

Give thanks for today!
You don’t have to thank a person, you can be thankful for life itself. Wake up and be thankful for just that, waking up.

Another way to show someone your thankfulness is by giving him or her a gift.  Here at Therapeutic Wellness Now we offer great six month and yearly memberships that will help you strive to obtain wellness in your daily life. THE NEED  FOR TOUCH & THE BENEFITS OF MASSAGE

As a society, we are touch deprived and this can lead to disease or emotional dysfunction. From the cradle to the nursing home, tactile stimulation and the emotional assurance of caring touch bring about a sense of well-being and security. Touching is a natural human reaction to pain and stress, and for conveying compassion and support. Healers throughout time and throughout the world have instinctively and independently developed a wide range of therapeutic techniques using touch. Many are still in use today, and with good reason.

Massage is a non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body's natural ability to heal itself.
- Increases circulation - Stimulates the flow of lymph - Relaxes and softens injured and overused muscles - Releases endorphin, the body's natural painkiller - Assists with shorter labor for expectant mothers - Increases joint flexibility - Reduces post-surgery adhesion and edema etc.

Having a massage does more than just relax your body and mind - there are specific physiological and psychological changes which occur, even more so when massage is utilized as a preventative, frequent therapy are not simply mere luxury. Massage not only feels good, but it can cure what ails you.
