Home Alone: 10 Beautiful Homes in the Middle of Nowhere - http://bit.ly/1fDzOjX
A home is a retreat—a place to escape the outside world, to be alone, to recharge, to relax with friends. For some, one apartment among many in a building wedged into a sea of other buildings provides all the sanctuary they need. But for others, true escape means getting as far away as possible from the rest of the world, to a beautiful and remote residence in a stunning location—with nobody around for miles. Such retreats try very hard not to be...

The Funniest Bathrooms on #Houzz (14 photos) - http://bit.ly/1fDzW2T
I know it’s immature, but bathroom humor will never stop cracking me up. I keep a stack of funny books in my guest bath, including My Life in High Heels, by Loni Anderson; a vintage copy of Barbara Walters’ How to Talk to Practically Anyone About Practically Anything; and What’s Your Poo Telling You? People act appalled by the last one, then they emerge from the bathroom laughing about a particular chapter. I always get a kick out of the funny th...

Grow a Kitchen Garden in 16 Square Feet (6 photos) - http://bit.ly/1fDzKAF
With just a patch of soil and sunlight, you can create a mini kitchen garden. It won’t feed your family for the summer, but it can make your meals more interesting, and perhaps get kids interested in growing food or at least help them understand where it comes from. The trick is to choose the right crops. Varieties should be compact enough not to outgrow the space and should be productive over a season — so you are not eagerly waiting for weeks f...

If You Have Room for Only One Fruit Tree ... http://bit.ly/1fDziCL

We just took an old tree out of our front yard and are planning to plant a fruit tree. This was a great article!
Few things that you can do in the garden are more satisfying than growing your own fruit. But what if your space or time is limited? Based on my personal taste, and with a mild-climate slant, here are some choices when you have room for only one fruit tree. These are plants that I have grown or wish I could grow. You might want to consider the same factors that I do: Will the homegrown, tree-ripened fruit taste better than what you can get from t...

Olmani Kitchen, Bathroom & Deck Home Renovations

*Posted with permission from our customer* I contacted Nikolai from Olmani Development to repair damage due to flooding in my basement. Nikolai was a consummate professional. He was experienced with insurance claim repair work, and new how to handle difficult insurance adjusters. The very morning after we awarded Nikolai the contract he was at my house starting work. From there on, he was at my house personally every morning working, and ensuring his crew was working to the highest possible standards. I was constantly updated on progress (at my request ) and he worked diligently through to completion much faster then I expected. The final work was of the highest possible quality. A thousand times better and faster then if I would have allowed the restoration company to sub contact the work out. Nikolai was always available when I had questions and concerns. I have personally recommended him to my family and friends, and he will always be the first person I call when I need any kind of home repair work completed in the future. I can not make a higher recommendation then that. Sincerely, Dan

Olmani Development was and excellent choice for my home renovation. I was very impressed by the quality of work and especially how I was kept informed and "in the loop" during the project. Nikolai explained everything to me and made sure that my expectations were met and that we were on the same page. I would definitely recommend Olmani Development to my good friends - which, I think, is the mark of a job well done. Andrew, Vancouver BC

Nikolai of Olmani Developments was recommended to us by my brother and his wife. Nikolai is a friendly and knowledgeable contractor who showed up everyday with his crew promptly at 8:30 am. If he was going to be picking up supplies and was going to be late the next morning he let me know the day before. Nikolai was helpful with his suggestions but always listened to what my husband and I wanted. His workmanship is first rate. For example, Nikolai had installed molding around a door that was very very close to a corner. I noticed that the gap from the top of the molding to the bottom seem to get wider. When I mentioned it to Nikolai, he explained to me that the walls were not square; that they were not straight. Given that the house is 30 years old, I accepted this. A day or so later Nikolai asked me to look at the molding again. The gap was even. He somehow re-installed the molding so that the gap size was more even and the gap was not noticable. Nikolai was on site everyday, oversaw the project completely and did all the major construction himself but called in specific trades as necessary. This major renovation was not a headache as others had led me to believe. Nikolai gave me homework and as long as I got the homework done Nikolai and his crew got their job done. In spite of the dust and noise, it was an awesome and fun experience. Thank you Nikolai and Isai for the beautiful kitchen, bathrooms, fireplace, deck and ....much more.
