A photographer from the local paper came to our Making Stuff Colder session and got some good photos of the kids working on their projects. Next time, we'll try to get them to actually do an article, but it was nice to at least see the photo coverage.

Here's the guide I made for Faster participants. I had a big pile of recyclables that we labeled the Junque Yard that they could use for supplies for part 2, where they were free to use whatever materials they wanted to try to make a vehicle faster than their first, basic model, which was essentially just the wood block with wheels they hammered on. We didn't pre-hammer the holes since we wanted to let people at least make the choice about where they put their wheels.

Here's the Participant Guide I created for Colder. You'll see that I actually gave them a lot of leeway in their unit design. Many actually tried putting the fan on the side, some had it facing in, some out, and so on. The biggest hassle was the cutting since only the facilitators and a couple of parents were allowed to use the utility knives. We opted for using tape instead of the glue gun.
