Located in the Surrey Hotel Cafe Boulud serves some of the prettiest and delicious food in the city. I went there for brunch with my visiting family and it was impeccable. Service is very formal and the price tag is certainly quite high ($45 for a smallish sized entree) but the dishes are impeccable and beautifully plated. The service was not as friendly as I tend to appreciate. Great place but very pricey.

Wonrful lunch menu and outstanding service. .Lots of "ladies wholunch", so good place to get away from the business crowd.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Food: Excellent! Same quality you would expect from Daniel minus the opulence. Drinks: Excellent. Wine list is impeccable. Space: Very laid-back, yet upscale. It offers quaint table seating outside in the summer months. Very romantic low light setting, so perfect for date nights :) Scene: Date night. Elegant. Upscale. Crowd: 30-80s. Mix of suits, locals, and retirees :) Service: Extremely courteous & professional. Almost bend over backwards to make sure your experience is perfect!

Love this place! Great food, great ambience, and great service! Food was exquisite and presented tastefully. Portion was small as you would expect from dining at a French restaurant. We ordered atlantic salmon tartare(i'm a big fan for seafood), wild mushroom risotto, beef wellington and some desserts. The beef was tender and flavorful; I don't think the waiter asked me how I would like to have the beef done, but it turned out to be incredibly delicious. I'm very amazed by the quality of the food and the service, def one of my favorite restaurants in the city. (FYI, I think they do have a dress code, probably flip flops or sneakers are not allowed)

I have gone to almost all of Daniel Boulud's NYC restaurants and I know I am always in for a treat. Although this restaurant did not impress me as much as some of his others, I enjoyed my meal. It is well worth it if you go during restaurant week and get the pre-fixe lunch.
