We have a website with social signal of Google+, Facebook & twitter on our home page. I understand that for getting higher ranking on the search engines the Facebook likes & +1 that are receive for this page will help me in search engine ranking. I have a sister concern company which has its own social media profile. Which will be better for my site for search engine rankings?

A. a like that I received from social media profile of my sister concern
B. a like received from dedicated social media profile of my own website.
C. Both are same.

Please suggest us..

If a website owner has set up specific Title tags on their pages, then it is annoying of Google to override these and display their own.

Does this response from Google help at all? Probably not.

In my opinion it never really caught on. I have 3 people here that use it, but I can see why it is going away there are so many tools that make this obsolete.

Google's +Matt Cutts on links vs social.  Links right now rank supreme and probably will for the next ten years or so.

+Matt McGee covered this yesterday - and I'll say the same again;
far to many people are not thinking, and leaping to conclusions.
They really should learn to stop, think and then open their mouths.
Others need to stop listening to/reading such muppets.

2 different signal sets - with only a partial overlap.
Links are not going anywhere - and G is only using some social signals as minor or contributing factors (no major social signal stands on it's own as far as I know).
