In 2014, Charlie North became the first pediatric patient to receive proton therapy on the medical center campus. Proton beam therapy is a highly accurate form of radiation therapy used to treat tumors near vital organs with greater precision, minimizing exposure to other organs and healthy tissue.

Five-year-old Landon may spend a lot of time here, but he dreams of spending his days as a police officer. So today, three St. Louis city officers visited him and made him an honorary member of the force. He even got a book of parking tickets to hand out! There's more than one way to be a hero!

They turned a tragedy into a celebration. For the 9th straight year, the Poe family delivered toys on what would have been their son's birthday. Teddy Poe would have turned 10 this year. He passed away from SIDS when he was just 3 months old. What a lovely way to celebrate his life. We are truly grateful!
