This is excellent, well done. A 100% renewable electricity system is 100% possible and will build a richer NZ. This is my focus in Parliament and my vision is for cheaper, cleaner, smarter energy for NZ.
Moving away from fossil fuels requires weaving in many new energy strands. Some produce little or no CO_2, which is great. Some produce CO_2 but plants also absorb CO_2. Therefore biodiesel from woody waste biomass is a big improvement on looking and drilling for more oil and gas. So what I am talking about is NOT taking land away from food production. Nothing is perfect, but continuous and sustained progress along many parallel strands will make a big difference. PhotoVoltaic Solar , Wind, Hydro-electric, Wave, ..., ... , and Renewable Biodiesel and bio-ethanol / bio-methanol all have a part to play... Using less energy by efficiency gains and "self-control" is also needed.
