Gaius Bosten: Well, he led the New Joint Endeavor for Welfare, Education, and Liberation, or New JEWEL Movement, which was a Marxist-Leninist party in Grenada. They gained control of the country in 1979 and introduced major reforms, especially focusing on women's rights and education. The guy was close friends with Fidel Castro as well, strengthening ties between the two Carribean islands. A lot of Cuban soldiers and construction workers took part in the Grenadian Revolution.
Gaius Bosten: Unfortunately, he was betrayed by some traitor in the movement and got sentenced to death, which caused a chaos leading to the U.S. invasion of Grenada (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion_of_Grenada).
