Service in this place is AWFUL. We came in around 4 and the waitress said the food will take 5min because "the chef is not here". Made us wonder --why were they open without a chef??It took 40min for them to bring one roll&the waitress made a lot of excuses when we tried to cancel it. Another time went there, the waiter messed up with the number of our order&argued that we ordered two of one dish when we didn't. Food's good but bad service.

A LOT of excellent reviews for a place I find to be only mediocre at BEST. ordered three rolls an entree and an appetizer. All were a bit on the small side for the price. The sushi had an "I've been frozen and thawed too many times" texture, and flavor. the creativity of the rolls was great, but the flavor was all but non existent for what I feel is a lack of ingredient quality. They were very poorly constructed. The presentation of the rolls was also very poor, it was insulting. Sushi is an art form. Something even the shittiest of establishments take seriously. my plate looked like it was garnished by a blind folded 5 year old with mittens on that was spinning around on a chair for 20 minutes. As for the second entree (chicken teriyaki) it was done, but under cooked. the sauce was watery and flavorless. very disappointing considering all these "excellent" reviews . you people need to have your heads examined.

Some of the most delicious sushi I've ever had! Ordered the "Sushi For 2" and it was a hefty amount of food for my girlfriend and I to split. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful and the place is so clean, it feels sterile almost. I only docked a point for decor because it sort of feels like a converted office, which is a little odd. Other than that, everything inside seems brand new. The Yankee roll was very different as I had never had "cooked" sushi before, but was very flavorful and such a nice change of pace. I can't remember what its called, but the specialty roll that has spicy tuna atop each piece of a spicy tuna roll was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Compliments to the chefs! (Who are kind enough to greet you as you walk past the sushi bar!)

I've tried a couple of sushi places in proximity to my job and this is the worst by far. I've tried it a couple of times but the sushi is just not great quality. I gave it a couple of tries but every time I'm disappointed. I actually find the quality of the stop n shop sushi better than the sushi I get from Takara's but that's just my opinion. :)

I was given a groupon for the chefs choice menu as a gift and took a friend. The food was incredible and the staff went to great lengths to make sure we enjoyed our meal, even going so far as to custom make a certain dish due to a food allergy. For 50 bucks my friend and I ate like kings. Highly recommended

my favorite sushi on long island. fresh fish with good service. the owner and staff very friendly. kind of place where they know your name and remember how you like your dishes prepared. the sushi is outstanding and cooked food is very well prepared.

Ordered Eel Avocado roll & Mai Roll (Spicy tuna inside w/ spicy tuna ontop). The rolls were very thin and extremely skimpy. It would have been nice to get some more sushi in the rolls I got. Plus there was a bone in my Eel... I will not go back. This is my second bad experience.
