I first heard of this restaurant on Man v. Food with Adam Richman. I was a little turned off because he was raving about the CSS Virginia a sandwich with fried chicken livers, but some people really like it They have many other delicious things on the menu. My wife got the CSS Manassas (fried catfish sandwich) and loved it. The sandwiches are huge! A half is more than enough for one super hungry person. I'm vegetarian so I got kimchi salad and the Sombrero Short stack. They serve really good wine on tap so you can buy it by the glass. Don't be turned off , we're not talking boxed wine like the Ernest and Julio stuff you might have had at a college party in the eighties. They have beer but not on tap. As, much as I love beer, I'm good with this because This place is all about the food. Go to a pub if you want to drink pints and eat french fries and pretzels. The food was excellent! The service was excellent. Waitresses were very friendly and helpful. This place is a gem!

Probably one of the best sandwich places in town. The seating is cramped, it's in a strange location, and the service is mediocre, AND it's still worth it.

I was very disappointed with Black Sheep. It's tiny, crammed, and reeks like old cooking oil (your hair and clothes will smell for hours afterward). It's severely understaffed with only two servers (who are also hostesses, food runners, busboys, etc.) — the loitering outside could be avoided with more staff and quicker turnover. Maddening slipshod operations aside, the food was just okay. Steak was tender and nicely prepared; fish was tough, bland, and inedible. Roasted root veggies were unimaginative. Menu is small and very limited. Wine is cheap and sandwiches are indeed enormous (24" and stuffed to the gills), but cheap food does not a good restaurant make. I'm baffled by the hype and praise this place receives.

Wow, first time there. Food is terrific. Their whole subs really are as large as a battleship

Overall you should try it. Pros: -Overall the food is good -They have a great patio area/bar with Trivial Pursuit cards for you to look at/play while you wait Cons: -Waiters are not the friendliest or attentive but it's probably bc the restaurant stays packed -The wait was very long.. 45 minutes before we sat down and then another 45 minutes after ordering before the food came -The vegetarian options aren't the best

Oh my goodness! First time going today! I ordered take out. The food is delicious. I don't eat bread or sugar so I ordered the Barn & Bay Breakfast Sandwich without the bread. It was excellent!

I've gone a couple times and have enjoyed each and every time. The menu selection is amazing; some things are a bit too spicy for my taste. All in all the food is excellent and the atmosphere is awesome.
