I made this post at the begining of last year and hoped not to have to give this warning again but I've had a couple of clients say they have received scams in the last week or so. Typically they receive an email from someone they know saying they are on holiday and have had their wallet stolen and asking for money to be transferred. Sometimes the email address is not quite right, maybe one character wrong, but sometimes it's OK. Obviously you just ignore or delete these messages. Surely your friend would have phoned in an emergency. But there's a wider concern as to where the info linking you with your friend's email has come. There's likely to be a computer infected with malware somewhere in your shared communities. Reinforces how easy it is to get infected and how we should all make sure our security programs are up to date.
