Have enjoyed every meal here since it opened. The Chicken, Steaks, Gumbo, Pork Chops. All the sides are always good. A place with a real Chef. For those who complain about service or show up 30-45 minutes before closing why not plan better. Its a nice place to hang out so whats the rush.

Great Chicken but sub par service. We have been several times and although the their Sunday Chicken is excellent the service is hit and miss...Owner never looks happy....Our last trip included a couple that have never tried their chicken and we suggested they come a long, however after driving 40 miles both ways from Saint Louis and arriving at 6:15 they turned us away saying they were full...7pm is their closing time....A nice Sunday drive in a convertible wasted....this is our last visit.. at least KFC is reliable.........

This was a family style rip off. We have been to this restaurant several times in the past. You were greeted by a nice waiter who would bring you a large plate of chicken and 3 family style sides and biscuits. They would give you enough chicken for everyone to have 3 pieces of chicken if you wanted, like at most other fried chicken restaurants. There was usually enough to bring some home along with the sides, like most other fried chicken restaurants. This time they brought out 5 pieces of chicken for 3 of us, 2 legs a wing, one breast and another boney nondescript piece. Not even 2 pieces a person. So I asked for more after we had finished what we had and they did bring three more pieces. However, when we asked to take the leftovers with us, like we had every other time, we were told we couldn't because we had a refill on the chicken. We asked what the would do with the leftovers, the waiter who was by now rude, said they would give the chicken to the needy and throw away the leftovers. Then he said they never let you take leftovers but some waiters and waitresses do when their not supposed to. This is the fifth and I might add last time we had been there. Every other time we had no problem, and in fact one time the waitress brought the boxes without asking. Also, every other time they brought us a huge plate of chicken which is kind of what this restaurant was known for. If you want a chicken dinner, go to one of at least 20 restaurants in the St. Louis area that will give you 1/2 a chicken and 2 or 3 sides and not question taking home what is left. I might add they will usually cost less also.

Went on a Sunday for lunch. They serve a fried chicken dinner family style. Great service. Our children ages 1.5 and 4 ate for free. Great price! But most importantly the food was awesome, and homemade! Great fried chicken! Yum!

I visited Gallagher's this past weekend with my family. Our experience was wonderful. My husband loved the fried chicken (I tried a tasted and found it to be juicy and flavorful). The dark appearance is because of the breading used and not because of dirty oil on the chicken being burnt. I had a hamburger that was huge and perfectly prepared. My girls both had meals from the kids menu and their portions were HUGE. The pasta dish from the children's menu was simply delicious. My only complaint were the fried green tomatoes, which were flavorless. Otherwise, the service and ambiance were wonderful and the food very well prepared.
