I would like to officially invite you to attend a free public screening of “Yangtze Drift”, a half-hour experimental documentary about the Yangtze River on Friday March 21st at the Full Frame Theatre in the Durham American Tobacco Campus. Friday’s program is a collection of thesis works by four filmmakers from the Duke MFA|EDA 2014 graduating class titled “Corners: Films in Conversation”, and will be proceeded by a reception from 5pm-7pm in the neighboring Power Plant Gallery.

The program of films will be followed by a panel discussion featuring all four filmmakers and moderated by David Gatten. You may learn more about this program by visiting the Facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/645670212160190

PKN gets coverage in the Chronicle

Cutting expenses for grad school, cable was first on the chopping block. Luckily my apartment complex has a small 24 hour gym complete with a TV installed with digital cable. Watching Breaking Bad from the bicycle might become a new Sunday tradition.

Ever wonder why you see people breaking Olympic records and world records year after year? http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/08/01/sports/olympics/racing-against-history.html?hp

I have begun the planning stage for the next photo/cultural exploration outing to China.  Tentative dates are December 14-23, or if people prefer this can be moved to Dec 26-Jan 3 (may add slightly to the airfare cost).  We will visit Beijing and Guilin as major stops, with either Hong Kong or Shanghai as our port of return. Space on this trip will be limited to the first 12 travelers to pay $300 deposit.  I will need at least 8 people to make the trip possible. The estimated cost of this trip will be $2300 per person, which includes all airfare, hotel, domestic travel in China, entry tickets for group planned tourist spots (i.e. the Great Wall), and 3 meals each day. In addition to this cost you will be responsible for your passport and visa.
If you are interested please let me know ASAP.
