There are villages in Turkey where the odds of developing mesothelioma - a one in a million type of cancer - are one in a hundred. It's because they build houses from rock containing erionite, a mineral that causes cancer in an asbestos-like way.

That same mineral is found in gravel used to pave roads in Dunn County, North Dakota. Some 300 miles of roads, including school bus routes & playing fields, release cancer-causing fibres when they're driven over, walked over, swept, raked.

What we have here is a rare opportunity to avert an epidemic before it happens.
Cancer | In Dunn County, North Dakota, the roads are paved with a unique danger. Over 300 miles of them are covered with gravel taken from the local North Killdeer Mount
