The Cow is a local favourite and not without reason. I’ve been here many times and service is always excellent, very friendly staff, and guests include everything from old school locals to the gentrified residents of modern Notting Hill. Make no mistake, this is a traditional British pub, where you go for a pint rather than a fancy drink. Beer selection is not huge but sufficient, they serve good Guinness, but don’t expect a vast gin selection. For food you have the choice of the tranquil dining room upstairs, or the more busy bar area (which is my preferred choice), where you’ll find yourself unless you book in advance. It’s less noisy than the bar itself, so don’t be scared if it feels very noisy when you enter the bar. Food is classical pub grub with a few twists, and everything I’ve tried has been great. I can recommend the fish stew, or the Chicken Kiev, which ought to make anyone full. The excellent value oysters are a must for a starter. Desserts have been good the few times I’ve managed to stuff it.

Ok place but full of chinless wonders Also full of Albanian staff with bad attitudes ... Not what I wish to see in a London Boozer! Go elsewhere!!!

Went here a while ago - quaint upstairs seating that betrays the pub vibe you get from the google photos. We had oysters with a shallot vinegarette to start, and a onglette for the main with a chilled pinot noir. Very compentently done, and great value.
