Opening Ceremony of the SEPT MBA - 14th intake in Hanoi

The Opening Ceremony of the SEPT Master program – 14th intake in Hanoi took place on 4 of December 2018 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The SEPT Program is a research and training program dedicated to provide theoretical insight as well as practical experience in the management and promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) worldwide. With the 14th intake, the SEPT MBA is considered one of the most popular international programmes in this special area provided in Vietnam.

Apply now: Shanghai Start-up Class 2019 *2nd Batch

DC-Hub supports German Start-ups and SMEs to build up a China competency. The program will pay for the 2019 class´s winners return flights, co-working seats in Shanghai, access to the DC-Hub network, events, and workshops. The class will take place from end of April to end of May 2019.

The submission for the 2019 class is now open to Start-ups and SMEs from Germany. All applicants will undergo a first round of selecting the finalists for the pitching competition on January 25th, 2019 in Leipzig. The 6 winners of the pitch competition (1 person per company) will fly end of April 2019 with DC-Hub to Shanghai for 4 weeks. (The return date to Germany can be planned individually according to your schedules, minimum stay in Shanghai is 2 weeks.).

On November 5th - 8th 2018, the International SEPT Program at Leipzig University in cooperation with the Master Program in International and Development Economics (MIDE) at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW Berlin) and the Master in Development Management (MADM) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, conducted the Alumni Winter School 2018 on the topic of "Digital Innovation for Development".

The main objective of the 3-day Alumni Winter School was to develop an innovative digital education and coaching concept, which could be used to present and implement selected educational content from the three German partner universities worldwide. The expertise of our Alumni allowed us to come up with fresh ideas for online education, coaching and consulting in the field of sustainable economic development.

Young researchers from Africa participate in the SEPT Summer School at Leipzig University

At the beginning of September, has started the summer school at the University sponsored by the Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Participants of the summer school are 30 researchers from different African countries. The organizer of the event is the International SEPT Program (Small Enterprise Promotion & Training), which is the part of the Institute for African Studies at Leipzig University.

Since 3 of September, 30 DAAD scholarship holders from various African countries have been guests in Germany. The four-week summer school is designed for young researchers from developing countries, who receive scholarships from Germany as participants of the DAAD Surplace program. During the four weeks course, 30 scholarship holders will work on the topic of "Project Development for Knowledge Transfer". With the help of this training, the participants are to be comprehensively prepared for future work as a university lecturer in their home countries. Among other things, the study program implies learning of different methods of applied teaching, individual scientific work and the supervision of scientific projects in applied research. Being a guest of the Summer School at Leipzig University enables participants to find supervisors for their master's and doctoral theses. In addition, the participating DAAD scholarship holders gain their own experience of staying in Germany and get their first insights into the society and culture.

SEPT is a practical-oriented research and training program at Leipzig University dedicated to designing and implementation of training programs for managers and junior executives from developing and transition countries.

Internsvalley collaborates with enpact to support young talents in Egypt

Internsvalley, a matchmaking platform that connects young talents with startups through remote internships announced their collaboration with enpact e.V. to support young entrepreneurs in Cairo. The non-profit organization enpact launched its first Startup Haus in Cairo last May to gather all the brilliant young minds in a co-working space. enpact supports responsible entrepreneurs with their innovative mentoring programmes, by creating entrepreneur spaces and analysing the startup friendliness of cities.

On their collaboration with enpact, Internsvalley’s Chairman and founder Mohamed Hawass who graduated from the MBA SEPT program at Leipzig University in 2013 said,” Internsvalley will provide enpact with remote interns who work for startups across Germany. This opportunity will expose students to a variety of ideas and assist them to develop professionally during their internship period.” He added, “This collaboration will bring benefits to early stage startups to foster their projects in a more effective way. The idea of bringing intelligent minds together could have a tremendous impact on the entrepreneurial scheme in both Egypt and Germany.”

enpact is a non-profit organization that focuses on empowering young entrepreneurs and assist the development of their early stage startups. enpact channels their support through different activity programs such as, the startup mentoring, startup meter, startup connect and startup space. Their first startup space was launched in Tunis and the newly opened space in Cairo took place in May 2018. The Startup Haus Cairo is more than just a startup space, promoting entrepreneurship and supporting the local ecosystem, Startup Haus Cairo was established in 2017 by enpact Egypt with the support of Drosos foundation. Startup Haus Cairo is home to workspaces, services, amenities, and collaboration. They bring together a vibrant community where they can exchange ideas, knowledge and inspiration. It is also located in the heart of the Downtown Cairo.

Interns who are attached with startups in Europe are already placed in the Startup Haus. This gathering will allow new ideas to emerge and encourage an open exchange of experiences. It will also encourage interns to have a sense of structure throughout their remote internship programs.

Internsvalley GmbH is a startup founded in 2016 and it is based in Berlin, Germany. Internsvalley provides students and fresh grads with remote internships in startups abroad. In addition, it enables startups to hire interns in different areas that range from software development to online marketing. The platform has reached more than 7k registered students from Egypt and Europe and aims at developing the concept of internships to embrace the needs of today’s digital world.

Best of Shanghai Start-up Class 2018

After exciting pitches of the Shanghai Start-up Class 2018 finalists at the Basislager Coworking Leipzig, our international jury have selected six teams who now have the chance to test their business ideas in the Chinese market. The business ideas range from innovative medical devices, practical solutions for the automotive industry to smart applications for process optimization for the manufacturing industry.

In order to gain experience, networking and developing their ideas for the Chinese market, the startup teams will be actively supported by experts from the DC-Hub and it’s network partners during their four-week stay in Shanghai.

At the beginning of September, the following six companies will fly to Shanghai with DC-Hub: Peakboard, IoCare, LAVIU, Shadewings, Shopeur, diafyt MedTech
