While the Frolic Room has never been a destination for me, there's no reason why it shouldn't be... My only 2 times coming here were on nights when I attended musicals at the Pantages next door. It's an intimate enough spot to meet before going in to the theatre... but here's the best part: and perhaps I'm ruining the secret - this is the place to come during intermission! The lines are shorter, the drinks are cheaper, and you get prompt service... and the line for the bathroom is considerably more manageable. I hope I didn't ruin it for next time. Still looking for Nina... I'm sure she's there... but I'm always in and out so quickly, I never get to linger and find her.

If you don't fancy much of LA buzz and you look for an unassuming, straight, friendly bar with excellent music choices then that's your place. With reasonable prices and an interesting crowd.

Finally checked out the Frolic room with some friends last week. It is exactly what you would expect, a dark Hollywood dive bar. The staff was friendly and the drinks were cheap, as long as you ordered house liquor, the name brands jumped up a few dollars. Still compared to most Hollywood bars it was much cheaper. The decor is fun and retro and makes you feel like you are going back in time a few years. Great place to grab a drink before or after a show at the Pantages.

this legendary gem is the oldest bar on Hollywood Boulevard and has been in business since 1937 the current tenders are absolutely great (Joel and Ruben) their salty snack is jiffypop popcorn. the drinks are stiff and capacity is about 50 people and at 50 people it is a tight squeeze. a tall person could touch the bar and wall with arms spread.

The Frolic Room is my jam! Best characters, best Bartenders.. amazing people.. and the stories.. the greatest thing about this jewel of a place, is that the traffic of creatives.. young and old that breeze through.. curious people.. passers by.. show goers.. locals.. drunks.. local drunks.. very welcoming. strong drinks. great juke box. there isn't a damn thing wrong with this place. i hold it close to my heart as a place i've met true friends.

Bro, let's grab a brew at Frolic Room. You know, that tiny, crowded joint on 10th Avenue. No, there won't be any chicks there, man. It's always a total sausage fest. Who cares! It's just us, some good convoy, and some craft brews. You know how we love craft brews, bro.

The jukebox doesn't play the songs you want until like hours later. I'd just cough it up to play it as the next song, or it really isn't worth it. Bartender was nice, crowd was a mix of old and young, with the old hitting awkwardly on the young. It's a little dive bar that we just ducked into. But the drinks were strong, and the shots cheap compared to NYC.
