Indiahikes explored and launched the Phulara Ridge trek in the summer of 2018. What makes it uncommon is the thrilling ridge walk at 12,000 ft, where you walk on the mountain ridge for nearly 5 hours at a stretch!

There are just a handful of treks where you get to experience such ridge walks, and this might be the best of them.

Indiahikes has launched a new trek to Phulara Ridge. Here is a route map of the trail as captured by ReLive. The trail starts from Sankri and ends at Taluka. It is on the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, but within Uttarakhand. It is in the govind Pashu Vihar National Park.

The trail climbs to an altitude of 12,100 ft and hits a ridge. You traverse the ridge for a good 4-5 hours, walking with stunning mountain views, and the rest of the mountain scenery below you!

This week, the forest department has issued a weather warning and has disallowed entry into Govind National Park. This means trekkers cannot start the Rupin pass trek from Dhaula.

In other news, the forest department has banned camping at Deoriatal and Chopta. Watch the video for more details.
