Jay's gone, and the world's a little bit darker...

Really, G+? Are you trying to outdo FB by having three columns instead of just two, or are you just determined to make sure I don't actually see things?

Black metal meets shoegaze. It's brilliant stuff. Give it a listen.

If you're the sort who likes both cool indie RPGs and giving to charities, this is for you. It's like a Humble Bundle for indie RPGs.
Been thinking about getting a copy of Grey Ranks (by Fiasco designer Jason Morningstar), Monsterhearts (Joe Mcdaldno), Shooting the Moon (Emily Care Boss), Hollowpoint (Brad Murray and C. W. Marshall), A Penny for My Thoughts (Paul Tevis), or Kagematsu (Danielle Lewon)? They're all in the Bundle of Holding: http://bundleofholding.com/index/current

I was lucky enough to have this great story by Karin Tidbeck drift by when I was reading slush. And I say lucky because, despite having her on my radar thanks to Jeff VanderMeer, I'd never actually read one of her stories. Now I'm hooked.

Did you know Sofia Samatar's A STRANGER IN OLONDRIA was finally out? Now you do. Buy it direct from Small Beer Press or from other book sources.

If it wasn't for +Jason Heller's  LOUD column over at the A.V. Club, I'd never have heard of Kvelertak.

And now it's over.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Thanks, Jason, for pointing me toward so much great music.

Yes. Absolutely (and sadly) this from +Jason Heller:

"Musicians today are fucking cowards. In this century—blame it on 9/11 and I’ll crash The Clash into your house—music as a whole has grown increasingly myopic, solipsistic, and chicken-shit. It doesn’t matter what genre. The Phil Ochses and Curtis Mayfields and Joe Strummers and KRS-Ones have either gone or gone soft. When Rage Against the Machine actually does look good compared to today’s crop of prancing navel-gazers, you know we’ve got a problem."
