Introduction

“News is about creating discussion, its showing people what else is happening around them.  It’s a moment for people to sit down, watch, listen and hear about ways they connect to the world.  Television news caters to everyone; it’s whatever the viewer wants it to be.”

Angela Brauer came to Albuquerque in October, 2012 from KMTR-TV in Eugene, Oregon.

As a reporter/ First Alert Weather meteorologist Angela will bring New Mexicans the most in depth stories while tracking constant weather changes impacting our state.

Before joining the Action 7 News team Angela was a news reporter/ weather anchor at KMTR-TV for two years.  She also worked as a reporter/weather anchor for WOUB-TV in Ohio.  Angela received her bachelors in Broadcast Journalism with specializations in geography, meteorology and Spanish from Ohio University. While receiving her education Angela showed leadership early on as vice president of her sorority and also an assistant soccer coach.

Angela’s proudest achievements as a journalist include an investigative piece on animal rights and awareness and a story focusing on social media and the impact it had on news rooms across Ohio.

Angela is also the proud owner of two blind poodles who she loves dearly and one of her favorite past times is taking her dogs to the park.

“New Mexico is amazing.  I’m glad I’m going to be here a while, because it’s going to take me that long to see it all!  I can’t wait to explore.  I need suggestions though; I am a big ‘foodie’ and need people to tell me what’s good around here, besides the chile of course!”
