Time to put an end to this shit. I was too scared to say anything for a long time, but I am not afraid anymore. http://janecopland.co.uk/2011/12/women-as-entertainment-in-the-seo-industry/

I am, however, hurt and angry.

This looks both terrifying and hilarious. Video of CNET's day out with wish.co.uk's Zombie Bootcamp: http://videos.cnet.co.uk/crave-tv/how-to-survive-a-zombie-apocalypse-40001910/

This whole post is really important. I suggest reading the whole thing carefully if you go to, organise or speak at conferences.

Some honest (and hopefully constructive) feedback about SEO conferences. Would really love to hear your thoughts, points of contention, comments and/or other tips!

Do any of you lovely people like sport? How about arbitrary, meaningless online points systems? I know for a fact that you all like those. I have 500 Fitocracy (social workout logging website) invitations to give away here: http://ftcy.co/l0qlhV.

Very interesting documentary by the BBC on inside Facebook. Good interview with +Michael Lazerow . If you get the chance it's worth watching for sure.

Agreed, that jumped out at me too. And since the movie seems to be front and centre every time Zuckerberg is mentioned, it's worth noting that they didn't cover his psych studies in the film (that I remember). He's shown jumping on psychological ideas, like when he realises how crucial it is for his project's success that people be able to specify relationship status. But I'm fairly sure I've not seen it mentioned often.

Great experience - fantastic haircut and highlights. Better than any other salon I've visited before, and at a very good price. Definitely coming back :)

If I could give this agency no stars, I would. Or negative stars. Things that were broken when we moved in took months to fix (three months to the day, for example, for an alarm system that was used to market the flat to us in the first place). Appliances like the boiler didn't work in January and I had to be very firm with them to get them to fix it, as they told us to do it ourselves. We were absolutely sure we were being lied to about a number of issues that were obvious when we moved in, but the agents claimed not to be aware of. We had to contact them multiple times to get our deposit back; I get the feeling they never would have bothered trying to return it. After living in a flat owned by a brilliant landlady for four years previous, Spencer Thomas were a very rude shock. The only time they were efficient was when trying to market the property to us in the first place, and then in getting viewings in place when we were moving out. I felt that when they were doing their best, they were overworked at best, but being constantly apologised to with no action and / or lied to for twelve months was pretty awful. Glad to finally have the deposit back and be rid of them.

Fantastic service. Very professional, careful and efficient. I can't stress the efficiency enough. I thought I had done a questionable job packing, but all of our things were loaded into the lorry and unloaded in their new location in record time. Everything arrived safely. Moving can be stressful and too many people seem to let you down with incompetency. I think we should celebrate those who do an excellent job more often. These guys did a great job and made the process much easier.

We were visiting Alexandria for two days: on our first night, we went to the Columbia Firehouse and it was absolutely great. Risotto, smoked mayonnaise and chips (dear God, so so so good) and great cocktails... as well as awesome local beer... a wonderful restaurant. I never do this--ever--but it was so good that we went back the next evening with some friends. It was that good.

Fantastic food and cocktails. Wonderful way to spend a Friday evening - we ordered a whole range of different dishes for our party (about 10 of us) and tried as many different cocktails as we could. The house cocktail was pretty much everyone's favourite, but the bar stocks a pretty good range of wine and beer as well. Including Sam Adams, which I've struggled to find in London. Highly recommend checking it out!

240 reviews and an average rating of five stars pretty much sums this up. Really couldn't say much more than has already been said about this hotel and this great little town. Easy to get into DC too, so if you're in the area, stay in Alexandria, and stay at Morrison House. Seconding what splq says below me about the Columbia Firehouse as well.

Absolutely fantastic. I'd become aware that my vision wasn't what it should be, and made an appointment. I was prescribed glasses, which were ready in one day. Wonderful, friendly service and great specs :) Highly recommended.
