Choosing this fancy hotel was based on perceived quality. As they say....do not judge a book by the cover. The hotel was full of loud party people and this was a Monday night. People in the next room tried over and over to open the adjoining door in my room. I had to scream for them to stop. Also, doors slamming and loud noise all night. Called the front desk over six times but no action taken. Could not sleep and this was Motel 6 quality. The next morning the front desk asked "how was your stay!!". Told what happened and received .....:"aaaaawe...that is too bad...want a free Starbucks coffee??". The coffee was terrible too. I felt unsafe and the staff did give a crap about the poor safety issues, service and quality. This used to be a Marriott property and it was much better. Now....it is the ghetto--stay away.

Not a bad hotel. Amenities are as expected for a standard hotel room but nothing special, the property is well also maintained and patrolled regularly by security. The only down side is that due to the size of the property, they attract large groups (sports teams, etc) and the hallways can get rowdy at night when trying to sleep... I had them put me on the top floor all the way in the corner my last stay to alleviate this problem and I enjoyed my stay...

I stayed at he Sonesta Gwinnett Place in Atlanta this past weekend and had a great experience. I arrived a little early and wanted to be near people in a group who were also attending and the people at the front desk did all they could to make things go as smooth as possible. The room as clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The odd meal we had in the restaurant was great.

My first stay at Sonesta was great. They satisfied our needs, the room was great, the bed was extra soft and the Hotel had amazing views. Thank you again and we'll be back.

My girlfriend and I were on vacation to Atlanta and we decided to stay at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta. First of all, I have stayed at many hotels in my life, and I have NEVER been to a hotel with a check-in time of 4 pm. It seems this hotel is going through some much needed renovations, but I did not know this until we arrived. This wasn't the biggest issue. The real issue? An unclean pool area. When we arrived our room was not ready so the staff let us use the pool before our check-in. My girlfriend went into the bathroom by the pool and noticed there was a moldy bar of soap sitting in the shower. Once our room was ready we went up to check-in. We informed a gentleman at the front desk that the pool bathroom needed to be immediately cleaned. He said he would have someone take care of it. This was when we discovered the 2nd issue with the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor and it seemed there was some kind of flood or something in one of the rooms because there was a disgusting odor of wet carpet that hit us as soon as we stepped off of the elevator. In the hallway in front of one of the rooms, the hotel had a fan set up and the carpet was clearly wet. Every time you stepped on the carpet you heard this gross squishing wet carpet sound. We talked to the front desk the next morning and suggested they use a carpet cleaner or a shop-vac to suck up some of that water because the one fan was doing nothing. The staff completely ignored our suggestion, but they did end up moving us to a different floor. I have no idea if they ever got the water issue taken care of. On our 2nd night at the hotel, we decided to use the pool again. After swimming for about an hour or so I noticed there was some mold around the pool. This grossed us out so we decided to call it a night. My girlfriend went into the bathroom to change. When she came out she had a horrified look on her face. She told me the moldy bar of soap was still sitting in the shower. I gave her my phone and told her to take a picture of it. I also took some pictures of the mold around the pool. I had her go to our room and I decided to speak with a manager. I went to the front desk and asked for a manager. About 5 minutes later a manager came out to talk to me. I showed the manager, Ms. Salgado, the pictures of the moldy areas and also informed her we let someone know about the issue 2 days earlier when we first checked in. I was appalled because this means the pool bathroom had not been cleaned in at least 2 days. After the manager asked me to email the pictures to her, she eventually apologized for the "inconvenience" that this had caused my girlfriend and I. She asked if we had breakfast included in our stay, which we did, so she said she would give us a coupon for a free appetizer in the bar. Five or six hours later my girlfriend and I went back to the pool to see if anything had been done. Someone cleaned up the bathroom, but the mold by the pool was still there. This was the last time we checked, so I have no idea if anyone took care of the mold or not. With all of the fantastic reviews online, I really was expecting more from Sonesta Gwinnett Place.

I have not stayed here but I went go to a conference here over the weekend and found all facilities to be top notch. The conference room was comfortable even though the AC was not working. Any time I needed a cab, even though I wasn't staying at the hotel, the front desk staff was courteous and called me a cab right away. The food at the restaurant was good and the drink prices at the hotel bar were reasonable. My favorite thing is that they "have" a Starbucks inside the convenient store at the hotel. Made the early mornings as the conference started much easier.
