Color can profoundly affect the way we perceive and interact with things. Good color design can make something easy and pleasant to use; bad color design (and yes, I know several of you can think of examples) makes you want to actively avoid it.

As I'm not a visual designer, but I often need to think about the work of visual and UX designers, it's very useful to have a bunch of key ideas clearly put in one place. This article that I just found is a great summary of the key things you need to know about color design.

Young man, there’s no need to feel down
I said, young man, burn Carthage to the ground
I said, young man, salt the earth of that town
There's no need to be unhappy

Haha, this is now two friends at once recommending HZD. Again, I can't recommend it more. I should go back and play through again on the hardest difficulty.
Ong. Finished this today after about 60 hours (with the side quests) and it's so good. Gameplay is great, the hero amazing, and the story riveting.

If you have a PS4, you should try it. If you don't, you might consider picking one up.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe the only game I've 100%'d.
Holy crap, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

I don't think I've ever had the patience to play a single-player game for 86 hours before. But this one was too good.

Open-world RPG with a truly original setting, compelling story, and a combat system which rewards strategy, precision, and patience (without having pre-determined "right answers").

I loved the fact that in this game your power primarily grows qualitatively, not quantitatively. When you gain a level, you gain 10 max HP and a skill point -- there are no other stats like "strength" or "defense". Skill points buy specific skills that are useful in specific situations. You also get new weapons over time, but again, a weapon is never "more powerful" than a previous weapon, but rather has new use cases. I had at least 8 different weapons at the end (with a combined total of 20 different kinds of ammo) all of which I used regularly depending on the circumstances.

As a nice bonus, the game has the most amazing graphics I've ever seen.

It was better than Final Fantasy XV (another modern open-world RPG) in essentially every way, except possibly music (HZD has some nice music but FFXV was really good). Whereas with FFXV I skipped a lot of the high-level side quests, with HZD I felt the need to do everything. (Technically, I had 99.44% completion, but I think I was only missing some of the random reading material scattered around.)

“I was amazed that what I needed to survive could be carried on my back. And, most surprising of all, that I could carry it.”

At least Polygon isn't pulling any punches: "He is a hero for many in the hate group GamerGate, a rough assemblage of misogynists, racists, conspiracy theorists and right-wing ideologues who have spent years harassing Sarkeesian and anyone who publicly supports her work." (emphasis mine)

Wow.
I may need to try to pick up a copy of the NYTimes to see how small of a font they had to use in order to fit this all on a single sheet of paper:
