The Word became flesh (Christ) to show us how to love perfectly, and to deliver us mind, body, and spirit. And then He passed the baton to us. His last words were to continue what He did so lovingly – feed the hungry, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, make disciples of all nations, and baptize them in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teach everything He exemplified when He was here. As the Body of Christ, this is our mission statement from the Head, our beloved Lord and Savior. As followers of Jesus, we are in this world, but not of it. We are living in the Kingdom of God on Earth, as it is in Heaven, serving our King Jesus by doing the things He has called us to do as His “hands and feet”. Literally, He chose us as His own with God before our birth and even before He and God ever laid the foundations of the world. And by faith in Him, we can do amazing things on His behalf, restoring humanity back to relationship with God, receiving all the blessings He died to give us. Thank you, precious Jesus, there is NOTHING greater than to be a member of your Body – the Church!

The Lord put it on my heart to write a song for all baptized disciples of Christ, encouraging us to remember that because of HIS righteousness, we ARE holy. Sometimes the lies of the enemy (Satan) try to tell us differently. But, if you read the Bible for yourself, especially in Romans 6, you will see that it's quite clear that through the participation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ at baptism, “the old man or self dies” and a new creation is born, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Christ. Therefore, the baptized disciple of Christ is an actual partaker of Christ's Holiness. He takes our sin and gives us His Righteousness. And the process of growing from “glory to glory” continues, where the individual resembles Christ to even greater degrees as he or she follows Scripture, by watering oneself with the Word of God on a daily basis, thereby truly abiding in the Vine, and flourishing as a healthy holy fruitful branch.

This song came about from being deeply impacted by John 14:12-14, where Christ declares that “whoever believes in Him, will do the same works He has been doing, and even greater things.” When I really received this Scripture in my spirit, something powerful awakened on the inside of me. As a singer/songwriter for the Lord, I was moved to share this amazing realization with others in order to inspire us all. God's Word clearly tells us that Jesus expects us to do the same good works He did while He was here on Earth. Interestingly, it wasn't until after He was baptized and received the Holy Spirit, that He performed these miraculous signs and wonders, such as healing people of sickness and disease, raising the dead, casting out demons, and more. And of course, His baptism served as an example for us to also be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, which we are called to do as a result of being a disciple of Him. As each of us receive God's Word of Truth and let it transform us, the Body of Christ will truly become just as Christ stated, “doing the SAME works He did, and even GREATER things." And to God be the glory!

While I was in the studio recording for this album, God inspired me to write this song. Influenced by something my mother used to tell me when I was a child, that I was “like a tree” with different branches, able to choose how I wanted to grow in life, the memory of those words coupled with my understanding of Biblical references of being “a tree planted by the water and bearing good fruit”, moved my heart to put my life story along with my husband's life story into song. The lyrics share our lives from birth to young adulthood, how we met in church, and then eventually married, becoming united as “trees” to bear fruit together for the Lord. Since we are celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary this year, the song was a gift from my heart to my husband's heart, honoring our families, our marriage with God at the center, and bearing good fruit with our lives for the Kingdom of God, such as this new album from our music ministry.

May the “Like a Tree” song, and album be a blessing to you, as well.

All the Love of Heaven,
Kimberlee M. Leber

When God created man, He made him in His image and likeness with power. Both Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden, which was a Paradise, where literally EVERYTHING was provided, and there was ONLY goodness overflowing. He told man, “I give you all authority and dominion in the Earth, to rule over every creeping thing and subdue it.” However, Adam never subdued the serpent. And as a result, the fallen angel was able to borrow the body of this snake, and deceive the couple through it, thereby giving their authority and dominion over to him. This was the “Fall of Man”, where all the blessings of God were now replaced with “the Curse”, which brought about evil – sin, sickness, disease, toil, and death. Therefore, God had to somehow restore man back to Himself, where all the blessings He had originally intended in the Garden would be reinstated. Since He was the only Remedy, He sent Himself in the form of a man, as our “Second Adam”, to conquer all evil throughout time at the Cross. Through His victory at Calvary, Christ overcame the “Fallen State of Man”, and reclaimed the blessings of Paradise for all those who believe, and are baptized into the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, enabling humanity to live in the Garden, once again, with their rightful inheritance of authority and dominion in the Earth, making it more Heavenly. May you be blessed with the understanding of the Power that God has restored to you through Jesus Christ!
