Kiedy kolor przestaje być kolorem a zaczyna być technologią.

Earlier this year, Kapoor sparked outrage from artists all over the world with the announcement that he had made a deal to become the only person in the world allowed to use the blackest pigment of black paint ever developed. Known as Vantablack, the unique carbon nanotube-based pigment is produced solely by a British company called NanoSystem, and was originally developed for military technologies. However, Kapoor made an agreement with the company that he is the only person allowed to use it for artistic purposes.

The fact that some pirates wore eye patches most likely had nothing to do with a missing eye, and everything to do with being able to see—specifically, above decks and below them.

A new study shows that female Uber drivers make roughly 7% less per hour than their male counterparts. The data shows female Uber drivers earn on average $1.24 less per hour than men, up to $130 per week

The collaborative study by Stanford University, University of Chicago, and Uber, analyzed data from over 1.8 million Uber drivers. Female drivers represented 27% of the studied population.

So what explains the Uber driver gender pay gap? Sexism? Discrimination? Neither, say the study’s authors. In a blog post statement posted by Uber, “no evidence that outright discrimination, either by the app or by riders, is driving the gender earnings gap.”

Instead, the earnings discrepancy is attributed to differences in gender preferences. Female Uber drivers, for example, tend to drive fewer hours and also drive slower. Male drivers were also more likely to accept the extremes of shorter and longer trips, and were more likely to drive in higher paying locations.

Researchers attributed the earnings gap to a number of factors, including that male drivers were more likely to drive in higher paying locations, were more likely to drive faster, were more likely to accept trips with shorter distances to the rider, and were more likely to chose to drive longer trips.

“Overall, our results suggest that, even in the gender-blind, transactional, flexible environment of the gig economy, gender-based preferences (especially the value of time not spent at paid work and, for drivers, preferences for driving speed) can open gender earnings gaps,”, the study finishes.
