We had lots of fun raising money for Children In Need this year at #KiddiCaru and thank all of the parents and carers for their kind donations at all our nurseries. The children really enjoy #CiN as they have a so much fun dressing up and doing all things #Pudsey while also being able to support a very worthwhile cause! #ChildrenInNeed

Little ones at #KiddiCaru in #Wellingborough have been exploring their favourite nursery rhymes with song bags, puppets and role play! Nursery rhymes play an important role in early #childhood by helping children master key skills such as language and communication and social, physical and emotional skills. The #children mixed porridge oats in different size bowls with different sized spoons as they sang along to ‘When Goldilocks Lived in the House of Bears…’ as well as being intrigued by lots of shiny materials when talking about ‘Five Little Men in their Flying Saucers!’

Yesterday, the children at #KiddiCaru in #MatfordGreen celebrated #WorldKindnessDay by making a kindness tree together and sharing a story.

To make the Kindness Tree, the little ones sat together to cover the tree in their hand-prints which they then wrote kind words all over. Whilst making the tree, they discussed how we can be kind to each other both and home and at #nursery.

For their story time, the #children read ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’ by Julia Donaldson – a warm tale about a friendly giant whose heart is better than his dress sense!

We always like it when we can kick off the week with some fantastic news… After their first #Ofsted inspection since opening its door back in September 2016, #KiddiCaru in #MatfordGreen have been rated #GOOD! We are so proud of the team and the comments in the report.

Below are some of the comments taken directly from the inspection report:

• Staff use their good understanding of children's development to plan stimulating activities that help babies, toddlers and older children to make good progress in all areas of their learning.

• Staff provide a welcoming, extremely well-resourced and stimulating learning environment. Children eagerly play and learn indoors and outdoors.

• Staff develop very strong partnerships with the parents. They keep parents fully informed about their children's progress and involve them in their learning to meet their children's individual needs well.

• All children develop secure, warm relationships with the staff and other children. They are confident, develop good social skills and use language and early communication well. This supports their emotional well-being well.

The children at #KiddiCaru have spent the day marking #RemembranceDay2018 by making lots of poppies after showing lots of interest in how important the day is.

Little ones used all types of craft materials to make, model and paint as many poppies as they could which were displayed around the #nursery as well as taking them home. Preschoolers in the nurseries have spoken with #staff about the significance of Remembrance Day and the two-minute silence. Some even had the chance to look at photographs from the First World War!

Calling all of our #KiddiCaru #Colchester parents!

Did you know that you could get a discount when booking classes at Sing & Sign Colchester? This offer is available throughout November – contact Cheryl at www.babysigning-colchester.co.uk for more information!

Babies use all signs and gestures as a natural part of learning to talk. Sing and Sign is a fun way for babies to use signs to ‘talk’ to you before speech. Baby signing is wonderfully rewarding and fantastic fun. You will be amazed by what your baby is capable of telling you before being able to talk!

Today, staff and children at #KiddiCaru have celebrated #Diwali! Diwali, the festival of lights, takes place each year in the autumn. One of the most popular festivals of #Hinduism, it celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

Children at the nurseries have enjoyed lots of Diwali themed activities such as making and decorating clay diva lights, looked at Rangoli patterns and then made their own, #sensory play with brightly coloured rice and plenty of colourful paintings. There has also been plenty of role play whilst listening to traditional music. Some #nurseries have tried different foods which are eaten as a part of Diwali.

The little ones have loved hearing all about #Diwali and why it is such an important time of year. They very much enjoy getting involved in different calendar events, and we regularly organise activities to help them to learn more about their own and other #cultures.

Remember, remember the 5th of November…

Children at #KiddiCaru have been celebrating #BonfireNight by making lots of magical crafty creations today representing #fireworks! Some of the nurseries used spray bottles to create their fireworks whilst others used a range of different objects with paints which made fantastic firework displays. There were lots of discussions about how to keep safe at #BonfireNight so the children feel prepared to see fireworks in the sky tonight, maybe they will even get to use sparklers.

If you stick a sparkler into the end of a carrot, your little one’s hands will be safe and they will have better grip!
