Best grocery store in the city. A bit pricey, so I don't frequent it as often as I wish I could. But grab a few made to order sandwiches, drinks and some ice cream, and take it up to Alamo Square for a fine day out. Also their checkout line has got to be the finest impulse-buy aisle in the world.

Love this Bi-Rite location because it's a little less busy and still has all the same great stuff as the one in the Mission. I always try to stop by here after a night of dinner or drinks on Divis to get some ice cream. It's also great for produce and I love that they have samples throughout the store to entice you to try some of their unique items. Bi-Rite has a fantastic selection and is great for those interested in organic, specialty items.

I didn't know there was produce this good. Also the staff are incredibly friendly and seem to genuinely love good food.

Bi-Rite is a great spot to get specialty grocery items, coffee and wines, sandwiches, meats and cheeses and of course ice cream. On one of the rare hot days in the city, this is the place for some delicious ice cream in flavors like salted carmel or fresh sorbet. The ice cream is pricey, but it definitely worth it.

Living near bi-rite has sincerely enhanced my life. They somehow manage to take food very seriously without taking themselves too seriously. We used to think that we were very talented cooks, but it turns out the produce at bi-rite is so good it's hard to screw up great ingredients. Also, of course, the ice cream will be the best you've ever tasted. I always bring out of town visitors here to blow their minds, and they are always very friendly to let them try all the flavors. Bi-rite, please keep being awesome.

The prices here have gotten absolutely exorbitant. $8.99 for a pint of ice cream? Give me a break.

It's tough living in this neighborhood when it comes to grocery stores, because the closest options are Falletti's & Bi-Rite. I love both, but my wallet does not. Bi-Rite is the kind of grocery store that I swing through almost every time I pass it, just because I like the environment. The staff is super helpful and always excited to tell you about the latest hybrid fruit they have in stock, or whatever it might be. Also, free samples galore. And good luck leaving without caving and getting some ice cream (hooray for vegan options!).
