Now that's a breath of fresh mountain air!

Grouse Mountain grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, have awaken from hibernation after 139 days. The orphaned bears have called Grouse Mountain's wildlife refuge home since 2001. Since emerging from their 13th hibernation, Grinder and Coola can now be visited in their hibernation area atop the Grouse Mountain Gondola.

Looking back at 2013...

All the way from Texas, Sue and Rosella stopped by the office for a visit with their FreshTrackers, Fiona and Jeremie. Six months in the making, it was the trip of a lifetime that took them from Toronto to Vancouver by rail in just over a week!

Where will you be hiking this spring?

A FreshTracker view from +Whistler Blackcomb's Peak 2 Peak Gondola last weekend.

The gondola set a world record for the longest free span between two ropeway towers, with a whopping 3.03km connecting Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain. At its highest point, the gondola stands 436m (1,430 ft) above ground, for unparalleled 360-degree views of the alpine and valley below.

We love this year-round experience for skiing, snowboarding and snowy sightseeing in the winter, and alpine hikes and unique dining experiences in the summer.

Did you know that the rare white Kermode 'spirit bear' is a subspecies of the black bear?

Not an albino black bear, the Kermode bear has a recessive gene, which makes its coat white instead of black. These rare white bears are predominantly found in British Columbia with only a few cases elsewhere in the world. The largest concentration of Kermode bears can be found in BC's Great Bear Rainforest on Princess Royal Island where 1 in 10 black bears is white.

Catch a glimpse of these rare white bears on one of our bear viewing excursions: http://tinyurl.com/nn2wl8f
