Meet Elliot MacFarlane, one of our guest speakers at our upcoming Scottish Symposium. MacFarlane himself has been engaged in this kind of work for more than twenty years. After engaging in undergraduate and graduate work at Bowling Green State University, he continued his education at Case Western Reserve, Ohio State, and Moray University. His private library boasts a massive collection of eighteenth-century Scottish literature and history, and is complemented by a collection of 125 kinds of single malt Scottish whisky. Glenlaurel’s rustic links course captures the topography of the Scottish turf as it was played over a century ago. Since the Scottish Links at Glenlaurel is out of commission during winter months, we’ve put away the score cards and the original hickory shaft clubs and turned the links course into a half-mile cross country ski trail.

Pack up your warm clothes and your skis for a wee bit of exploring and fun and partake in the outdoor sport of skiing over the moors. As long as the links are snow covered and the snow lasts, we will keep the course open. Stymie rule does not apply!
