I love it when random peers send around surveys they made for a class and they're biased, badly worded, and just terrible overall. The following is a survey sent to me today: https://kwiksurveys.com/online-survey.php?surveyID=LOHIFL_eb598789
And here is the email that I sent her in return, enjoy!:
I just wanted to let you know that some of your questions seem a bit biased, and others do not offer all the answers that should be offered.
For example, your question "13. How much more likely do you think children raised in homosexual families will grow up to be homosexual than children raised in heterosexual families?" offers the answers Much more, Somewhat more, Somewhat less, and Much less. There should be an option similar to the following "I believe the sexual orientation of the guardians will not effect the sexual orientation of the child."
In addition, some of the other questions seem to be leading the reader towards one answer or another, and other questions are unclear in their meaning. Question 13 is a perfect example of this as well, it is leading the reader to think that the correct answer should be either Much more, or Somewhat more. A more effective question would be "Do you think the sexual orientation of a child's guardian(s) effects the child's sexual orientation?" or something along those lines.
You should re-work your survey and re-release it so that is neutral on the issue or your results will not be accurate and any data that comes from this survey will not be useful to analyze.
Good luck with your survey! :D
