My daughter participated with several friends in their first Tough Mudder, created to raise funds for Wounded Warrior Project.  With the over 90 degree temps, they still were able to finish!

This article is a good read.  It caught my eye as I had named my daughter "Shelby"; I liked the name from watching this movie.  Unfortunately, at age 10, my daughter was diagnosed with...yes, type 1 diabetes...the same diagnosis as the movie's Shelby (played by Julia Roberts) and the book author's sister.  As type1's advancements have been made since the book, screenplay, and movie, hopefully this will be portrayed in this movie?

Story
Tagline
At Sullivan County's UNH Cooperative Extension, I work with the staff to promote education, workshops, and resurces for the county in areas of Agriculture, Family & Consumer Resources, and Nutrition, along with "other duties as assigned". I also work part time in a library, member of Rolling Thunder NH Chapter 2, member of a quilt group Pins & Needles, and am a 4-H Leader for the Creative Clovers Club in Claremont. I also am knowledgeable in Type 1 Diabetes (my duaghter was diagnosed at age 10) and work to obtain a CURE. I also am an avid scrapbooker and cardmaker, and love to quilt.
Introduction
I work at UNHCE in Sullivan County to assist the educators in workshops, programs, and providing resources to the public in the county.
I also work part time in a library, where even with other media, it still is a great resource and wonderful place to spend time!
I'm a member of Rolling Thunder NH Chapter 2 and 4-H Leader for Creative Clovers.
Bragging rights
I recently remarried and have moved about an hour away. I'm a proud parent of a 20 year old daughter who is currently attending Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She and I held three walkathons, raising over $30,000 for Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes to find a cure. I am an avid scrapbooker and cardmaker and love to quilt. I'm very family oriented, and I plan our family reunions every two years (about 65 or more attend each time). There is never a blank spot in my schedule.

As my lease end was coming up, I was contacted by Adam to come in for an appointment in which to review my options. My mileage due to work travel was very high, so to avoid the excessive fees, I planned to buy my CR-V (which I absolutely love), and I had mentioned this in the phone call. I made the appointment to see Adam, but when I arrived, he wasn't there; Erin assisted me. My appointment was for 5:00 pm, and after all was said and done, I didn't leave until 7:30 pm. I would have thought since I made the comment about making the lease now a purchase, some of the paperwork would have been prepared. The time to do the paperwork, get the car inspected, and go over the extra options available took FAR longer than I'd planned, and I wished I'd known ahead of time. Then, I had purchased the Zurich Shield at that time, too, so Erin told me to contact her when I was ready to make an appointment, and she could give me a loaner car instead of sitting around in their waiting room, as it would take some time to apply the Zurich Shield. I consulted my work schedule and when I called Erin, I ended up leaving three messages over two days and yet she didn't return my calls. The third time, her voice mail said she was on vacation. I called back to the main number and got bounced around to three people before I got Adam. He said I could make an appointment the next day (which I made it for the 2nd day later) and I reminded him I needed a loaner so I could get to work. He said he would set that up and I would be all set when I came in for my appointment. I showed up for the appointment at 8:00 a.m. and there was nobody in the showroom area to greet me. A salesperson was sitting at a desk off to the side, saw my confusion, asked how she could help. She went to get Adam, who, apparently was "with a customer appointment". She knew nothing about my appointment nor the loaner, but she stayed on this with me until I was situated; however, it was over a half hour later (I was disappointed to have to wait for her to find the paperwork, find a car for me, left to go gas it up and return, making me late for work). I had to sign I wouldn't go through any EZ Pass lanes nor smoke in the car, yet there was certainly cigarette smoke in the car along with tons of dog hair. When I returned, the same girl swapped keys with me and WAS helpful, as I had to rush to another meeting and fortunately this exchange didn't take as long. For the most part, the experience was ok but I think they could work on their "teamwork" so everyone is either on the same page or there is a paperwork trail so others know what is going on.

As I moved and needed a new, local eye Dr and my prescription for contacts was running out, I called in Sept for an appt, and I received one 6 weeks later. My appt was for 2 pm and I received a call at 10 am on that day that they needed to reschedule. I couldn't get another appt for 4 weeks. Meanwhile, my prescription had run out and I had no more contacts on hand. My appt with Dr. Bryant went EXCELLENT and I loved her! However, she gave me a lesser script to try and told me leave a message if they worked or not. I did leave a message within her requested two days and to give it time to get logged or whatever, I then waited almost 2 wks to order through 1-800-Contacts. Now, as I see several days later, the status is "verifying prescription with Dr", I have called the Eye Center. They said I needed to call 1-800-Contacts, who told me they had TRIED contacting the Center with no results. I called BACK to the Center requesting my prescription be sent to me so I could sent it to 1-800-Contacts myself and was told they would call me right back. Two hours later, I call and the receptionist just put me to a voice mail, but as the message is cut off, I don't know with WHOM I left a voice mail. So...beginning in September, I did what I could do and still haven't received my contacts. Not happy.
