I have Dan Clark at Lotus Spring Acupuncture to thank for getting me well and back to work after a painful back injury. I herniated a disc in my back this past June and went on short-term disability for work. The pain was excruciating--the herniation had affected my sciatic nerve and as a result my whole right leg was numb for about three weeks. I rested, did light water-aerobic exercises and physical therapy, but after two months it was still healing so slowly and I was still experiencing intense numbness and pain, especially at night. I needed to get back to work, but didn't know what else I could do to help the healing process. I was desperate to avoid surgery because I'd heard so many horror stories about how your back is never the same after surgery and it often creates more problems. I've always leaned toward traditional healing and medicine, and a friend recommended I visit Dan. I had never tried acupuncture before, but at this point I was open to anything to help me get better. My first appointment was very relaxing and comfortable and Dan was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He told me it might take a few treatments to start seeing results, but I left that appointment walking without a limp for the first time in almost two months. The decrease in pain was astounding, and I knew immediately that this was what I had been looking for. Dan was able to figure out a pricing package that worked for me, and after completing 10 treatments with him over the course of two months, I was virtually pain-free and back to work. I now recommend acupuncture (and Dan specifically) to anyone I know experiencing chronic pain or recovering from injury. I've been back at work full-time for three months now and I'm feeling great. I cannot express enough gratitude to Dan for getting me back on my feet, pain-free, and back to my normal life. You truly don't realize the value of your health and wellness until it's taken from you. With Dan's help, I was lucky enough to get it back.
