Luckily, it's time for a resolution check-in.

I don’t have anything clever to say, so let’s jump right in. Eliminate Just like last month, if I base the success of this on the BOPL (heh, sounds like bopple in my mind … heh heh) then it was a big ol’ dud. However, I don’t think it was very dud-ly at…

Lent http://wp.me/s44RZv-lent

I’m not Catholic (I’m Methodist turned Baptist) but for as long as I can remember, I’ve attempted to give up something for Lent. Usually I don’t do so hot – I mean, by now you should be aware of my resolution progress and how hit or miss I can be. This…

It’s finally here … the moment you’ve all been waiting for … who am I kidding? Just humor me, because it’s time for some RESOLUTION PROGRESS! I’m going to warn you right now: I did not take January as seriously as I should have. Eliminate If we’re basing…

Good morning readers! Has 2015 been crazy for you? Because it totally has for me. I’ve gotten sub calls every day this week, and the only reason I won’t today is because I’m going to get the car serviced so I’m marked as Do Not Call today. We’re at…

Good morning to you on this final day of 2014! Gosh, there were plenty of times when I just wanted this year to be over, but now that the end is here I’m feeling a little bit nostalgic. It was a good good run, all in all. Let’s see how well I did. 1. Be…

I don't know if I'm ready to knit these.

Last night, I finished up all my knit WIPs (works-in-progress, for you non-crafters) so I hopped on Ravelry to see what was next in my queue. These don’t mean anything to you, but I was almost dreading these two projects. “Henry’s Bunny” was added the…

On my way home from PAX South last month, I met Laney and her mom. Not in person, of course, but on imgur. (You can meet them here too.) Laney has Alopecia Areata, so she doesn’t have any hair. She has a wig now, but she doesn’t wear it most days. And…

When you live in a rural Southern town, you hear slightly different pronunciations of common words. Such was the case when my church’s women’s group started talking about making pillowcases for CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates (for…

Haaaaappy New Year everybody! I would like for everyone to notice what time this post went live…. 20:15 (central time) … yes that was planned. I just had to. Because I feel like a large part of 2014’s successes were due to me blogging about them once a…

Today I almost had a Christmas meltdown. If you’re the sort who tries to make your gifts, you know why. Everything can be going along fine and well and then you hit a pretty big snag and suddenly you’re regretting and hating everything about everything ……

I've eaten some bad pizza in my day, but this ... this was the worst. We'd just arrived in TExas after driving 12 hours from Arkansas, so we were starving. We waited just over an hour for it to arrive. When we opened the box, it looked like the pizza they serve at the school where my husband teaches. However, school pizza is edible. This was not. Terrible sauce, and the pizza itself was cold when we got it. Learn from our mistake. Get back in the car and get decent pizza, please.

Was here for a convention and will opt to stay at a different hotel next year. Most of the staff was polite, but many were uneducated about the hotel's policies and practices. We ended up being charged three different times for parking because a woman behind the desk gave us bad information. Not to mention parking cost us $40 a night - ridiculous! Also, we're fighting a $60 that no one at the hotel seems to know what it's for! There were numerous charges on our bank statement that were not on the receipt the hotel gave us, and it's giving us a lot of grief to find out what they are because no one at the hotel is willing to talk to us. The valet workers were also incredibly rude on check-out day - so rude that I was fuming the entire 5-hour drive home. Also, I am quite perturbed by the fact that we paid $199 +tax a night for our room, only to find out when I got home that non-convention hotel guests paid $129 for the same type of room we had. The Hilton is a beautiful location, but it's definitely not worth the hassle we've been dealing with since we came home.

I'm kind of a pansy about spicy food, so this was a little too spicy for me, but the rest of my family loved it. When they ask what side you want, get the grilled new potatoes (I think that's what they were called?) They were amazing.

I am going to go back next time I visit my family to see if it has changed, but when I would (try) to shop here while I was in college, I rarely ever got any assistance, and always felt like when someone would talk to me that they were talking down to me. I was usually wearing an ATU or sorority shirt when I was there, so I guess they thought I was some flippant undergrad, but I really love knitting and would have made purchases there. I'll give them another shot, though.

In need of repairs - booths are torn up, floor is filthy, has a general atmosphere of mild neglect. Workers are slow to acknowledge customers that walk in. Service for dine-in patrons is almost non-existent. Marinara sauce recipe may have changed, because everything with the sauce tastes different now - too heavily seasoned.

Went here for the first - and probably last - time. The burgers are great, don't get me wrong, but when the first thing out of a waitress's mouth is, "I'm only going to say this once, so you better listen," it kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth, you know? Not to mention she rolled her eyes when we didn't know that the checks couldn't be split up - oh yeah, by the way, you can't get your check split on Friday or something like that. I couldn't tell if she said "we don't split them on Fridays" or "we don't split them at all" because she kept mumbling and then running away from the table before we could ask her to repeat what she said. I don't understand why some people are trying to justify the crappy service here. It is NOT okay.

I'm amazed how many Very Good ratings are here. They must have never been in the ladies' room. Doors are missing latches, and some stalls have no doors at all. They are also filthy. But maybe the others have never been in the restrooms here. It still doesn't deserve a Very Good rating. Some theaters have torn screens. Most theaters have around a dozen broken chairs. Everything is falling apart. It's a shame Russellville doesn't have something better.
