This is a pretty good read about docker performance on AWS.

As someone who also missed out on a traditional education, I find this article particularly inspiring. Determination and study can go a long way!

I'm going to post this snippet in case anyone else is trying to get Golang templates working in Ansible. It was kind of a pain.

The trick was using jinja's `{% raw %}` to avoid interpreting the curly braces in the Go template. Then escape any double-quotes in the template. And finally the variable needs to go through the `to_json` filter when using it.

(I'm using this particular Go template to view all the services in my OpenShift cluster that are using LoadBalancer as a service type).

```
vars:
gotemplate: "{% raw %}{{ range .items }}{{ if eq .spec.type \"LoadBalancer\" }} {{ .metadata.name}} {{ .metadata.namespace |printf \"%s\n\" }}{{end}}{{end}}{% endraw %}"
tasks:
- command: "oc get services --template={{ gotemplate|to_json }} --all-namespaces"
```

This is just awful! All the un-adopted pit bulls in Montreal will be killed :(

If anyone lives in the northeast and wants to save one, you have until Monday to adopt.

Interesting talk on how SRE works at Google. Some of it is familiar since my team works similarly, but there's always something to learn from Google's massive scale.

With the holidays approaching, I'm glad to have more time to study the foundations of systems and containers! This will be useful for troubleshooting later.

There's also part 2 and 3:
