The food and teas delicious. The service is a bit poor - though not quite rude, they were certainly not friendly and it came across as a bit of a hipster too-cool-for-their-barrista-job sorta place (e.g when I walked in they ignored me for ages, despite it not being busy, and then one of them barked at me "What? you want a coffee or something?"). That said, if hipsters don't irritate you, and more, you can tolerate insolent hipsters, then it's worth going for the delicious food.

I liked the woman who did my nails, so I feel bad about writing this review. That said, I felt like it was a poor job for a simple task (I just needed gels removing and a manicure). The gel removal was OK, but I was pretty appalled by the manicure -- they were not shaped inconsistently (in fact they're all very varied lengths!), she didn't use the necessary products to prevent the nails being brittle after the gel treatment, just put new nail varnish straight on. She also used a fast drying top coat that I don't think she knew how to use, as it got super lumpy and rather than starting again, she just put more lumpy stuff on. I've basically come out with worse nails than if I'd done it myself :S

Awesome steak -- went for the entrecote option and it was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. My friend tried the lamb and said similar. They also know how to cook things rare which is a big plus. Wine was also great, and I found the service to be impeccable -- they were both attentive and reasonably friendly. The time we went (mid afternoon on a Sunday), it was a bit empty -- but after the hustle and bustle of London, it feels like a refreshing bit of breathing space. It's not cheap, but the prices are reasonable given the quality of the food.

Cucina asellina was good, but not great. It's actually quite reasonable, staff were attentive and the food was fine. Our starter was excellent, the mains were good and our dessert was a little disappointing. Would recommend, but don't set your expectations too high.

This is one of those places that is so up itself as to mean one should avoid at all costs. It seems like almost every "country town" has it's own formulaic overly-priced organic farm shop, and this is Petworth's. However, the staff here are particularly patronizing and supercilious, making it clear that they are doing this at their convenience and not yours. Overall, tedious, slow, irritating and over-priced, would not return.

This should be a great experience -- great view, delicious cocktails etc etc. However, the pretentious nature of this place ruined it for me. The security guard had a real go at another customer at the door because he dared to touch the restraining ropes (there was no one on the door, so it was not clear what to do, and the security guy then appeared and proceeded to be incredibly rude). Once you've got past that there are only 2 more security ppl that you have to get through to prove you're cool enough to drink here. Finally you can be rewarded by waiting 15 minutes for a drink when it wasn't busy, while staff spend time fluffing pillows rather than making drinks. That said the drinks were great, and the view is amazing.

Always packed, but worth the wait if you can get one of the candlelit tables under the arches. Great wines, with a cosy atmosphere makes it a great pre-dinner or post-dinner stop off.
