Reconfigurable processors - FPGAs - can speed web use.  But they've been too hard.  Will this make it easier?
One of the most interesting trends I've seen in server computing is the move away from standard CPUs and toward doing more processing on graphics chips (GPUs) and reconfigurable processors known as field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

To me, the big story at #WWDC2015 and #io2015 is the effort being spent on assistants that know everything about you.
After attending Build, I/O, and WWDC, what stood out the most to me was the effort that these companies are putting in to create intelligent systems that know as much as possible about you.

Oculus: "We run to work every day wanting to build the holodeck." Not ready yet but I want it.  #CodeCon
One of the things I enjoyed most at the recent Code Conference was getting a chance to see and try out some new virtual reality (VR) experiences, and listen to the heads of Oculus and GoPro talk about their visions of where VR is headed.

Despite the growth of digital media, the average person in America still watches television for five hours a day. Not me.  #CodeCon
CBS chief Les Moonves noted that 70 percent of the audience still watches shows in the time period when it first airs.

The average person spends 5/6 hours a day with digital media, more than half on mobile.  That's a lot.  #CodeCon
At last week's Code Conference, Mary Meeker as usual presented her annual report on Internet trends.

The display and camera on the #GalaxyS6edge are really impressive.  Best Android phone I've used.
These are the best Android phones I've ever carried, with great performance and the best screens I've seen on a smartphone to date.

At #CodeCon, lots of leaders on change: big growth at startups, "A Rising Sense of Panic" at established firms.
As I think back at last week's Code Conference, part of what impressed me was just how quickly some of the new companies are scaling, and how the bigger, more established companies need to react.

Apple exec: The car is the ultimate mobile device." But not what we'll see at WWDC.  #CodeCon

At last week's Code Conference, executives from Apple and Google talked about the future of their core businesses, with the Apple discussion focusing on the iPhone and the Apple Watch, and Google talking more about how the company can grow in a mobile world.

Hard to understate the growing importance of social media. #CodeCon
At last week's Code Conference, a number of the most interesting sessions dealt with media in one form or another as senior executives from digital applications BuzzFeed, Pinterest, Reddit, and Twitter took to the stage.

Elizabeth Warren on the Collective Need for More Infrastructure, Research #CodeCon
Her big point was that while entrepreneurs build great companies and should be applauded for the products and jobs they create, society as a whole needs to build the environment and the infrastructure necessary for such companies to flourish.

I like my Apple Watch, but can't say I love it - at least not yet.
The Apple Watch is clearly the best smartwatch I've tried, but it suffers from some hardware and software limitations.
