Plenty of (over) simplification and a few outright bits of nonsense but mostly damn good. Read it.

"Smalltalk is a vision of the computer as its own, native medium. The whole system can be modified, by anyone. The dominant version is called Squeak (logo: cute mouse), and a modernized version is called Pharo (logo: lighthouse). Both are free and easy to download."

They even got a Squeak screenshot:

Excellent essay all around!

The Camp Smalltalk in Nanaimo was excellent. Thanks to Sebastian for the assisting me in getting a Parallella version of Squeak... still a few glitches with the FFI and OpenCL interfaces but we'll work that out. Thanks to everyone else for their excellent suggestions and interesting object technology conversations. Productive fun that made a difference.

Just a reminder to everyone that we’re having another Camp at Makerspace Nanaimo at the end of this month. The last one went really well and has inspired the Portland local Smalltalkers to plan an event for the fall; so we’re having a little relaxed get-together this time.

There's no way that thing could lay down the batter quickly enough for even cooking.

If it's anything like as much fun as the first event last year we'll be very pleased. Pi 2 on show; at least a couple of other never-seen-in-Canada Pi things will be on display.

Freakin' brilliant. I'm not a quadcopter person but really, just amazing.
Since I started to build my quadcopter, I was looking for a more organic way to control it ... the best way to ‘feel’ your flight: the Glove Controller!

At last nights MakerSpace Nanaimo 'Smalltalk night' we showed off the Raspberry Pi2 running the latest Scratch and also hooked up a Kinect; yes, you can bounce around like a maniac in front of a camera and control Scratch.
