A personal essay, "She’s Really Let Herself Go" by Jen Violi, about how the critical sexist idiom could be used as an empowering phrase. For NAILED.

So, privately sharing posts means nothing now? Anyone can see and comment on them? I just had a guy comment on a photo that I had shared "Privately" and he was not any of the intended recipients.

ah, that would be it. Post said it was private but when I go back and find the photo it is set to public since it was a profile photo. What's with the private post then? I don't even know how to find it again because I blocked the guy and the notification is now hidden.

This past Wednesday Bob Duggan, an extraordinary healer-teacher, passed away. He taught, among other things, how to use your physical symptoms as teachers. I had the privilege of studying under Bob for four years, learning how to use words as medicine. "I am still a beginner."

"So every other culture that I know of on the planet doesn't speak from 'what do I want to say' or 'what do I believe' or 'what am I about', they say 'as I speak...would my great grandfather be proud of my speaking right now, and will my words right now serve my great grandchildren?' Other cultures don't say 'say whatever you want', they say 'say what will create a world that will honor the ancestors and serve the grandchildren. It's what every culture in the world has said." - Bob Duggan

I love this, I also feel that boredom is sometimes healthy, out of boredom comes creativity. My question though: how would one frame this so that even a 10 year old would understand?
