Our next LUG meeting is scheduled for Wednesday the 19th of April. Since our last meeting, Canonical have announced that they will be moving their flagship Ubuntu desktop Linux distro from using their own Unity desktop environment to GNOME. This has caused a fair amount of discussion online and it would be good to discuss further at our LUG meeting. Join us at 7pm to discuss this news and other geeky Linux and tech related topics.

Our next LUG meeting is scheduled for Wednesday the 15th of February. After last month’s elementary OS experience, Philip will be bringing along KDE neon, so if anyone is interested in giving it a try, just let him know. Also, this month’s meeting falls the day after Valentine’s Day, so there will be romantic poetry readings around the topic of “Linux, I Love Your Bits”.

Just kidding.

As usual, we’ll be meeting at Lincoln Bowl with a start time of 7pm. We hope to see you there for lots of Linux related love and chit chat.

Our next LUG meeting is scheduled for the 17th of August.

Since our last meeting, Phil Gobbett has posted details of this year’s Open Source Hardware Camp to the LUG’s mailing list. If this is something you’re interested in attending, come along to our next meeting to discuss, or reply on the mailing list.

Also, Lincoln Hack is taking place on the 8th and 9th of October and is described as a “24 hour coding competition”. Would it be possible to put together a team of 4 from our LUG? Again, if this is something you’re interested in, come along.

If there are any other topics you would like to see discussed, please get in touch and we’ll see that they are raised at the meeting. As always, we hope to see you there.
