Photos I took of my good friend Lorreine Espiritu(more known as Yappie) during our trip two weeks ago(February 10, 2012) at Cagbalete Island, Mauban, Quezon Province with Eric Poliquit and Sheila Alfafara.

Yappie is a fashion stylist and a designer for a local brand here in the Philippines. An avid traveller, you can see her adventures at her travel blog linked on this post. Cagbalete, known as the 'mini-Boracay' is a calm and quite getaway, that beach lovers from Metro Manila can enjoy.

Known for it's long stretch of ankle-deep waters, high tide goes up just after the sun sets. If in need for a location to shoot for a wide-stretch of shoreline, this island may be one of the few choices I can suggest. With inviting clear waters and serene seascapes, it is a great destination for beach lovers who like solitude and relaxation. Power goes out by day, and when night comes, a generator supplies the electricity for the whole island.

Where are You Yappie?!?

I am sharing the photos of the Batch1 of the Fashion Styling Students from THE FASHION STYLING WORKSHOP with ERIC POLIQUIT in collaboration with Raffles Design Institute Manila. Shot during the second session of the workshop, it is the first time for most of the students to take part in a quick and time-constrained photo session.

Each of the students were assigned a specific trend they need to create and should best display the level of creativity with technical points of appropriateness from each of the trend they were asked to style without losing their personal approach and unique interpretation to the whole look.

Let us see whether they have given justice on each of the trend they styled.

For this week’s shoot, the stylists were given the task to choose a trend of their choice and come up with 2 cohesive looks. On the 2nd look, the challenge for them was to edit the number of pieces of clothing + accessories according to the number they have picked. This is to test their judgment as to what is to retain and to let go and still be able to achieve the look.

And as expected, the riot began…

Batch 2 is NOW OPEN for RESERVATIONS! FEW SLOTS LEFT

These are the photos from the 5-minute Fabric Challenge taken on their 1st photoshoot. The students were provided different types of fabrics and accessories they could use. The task was to choose and to use the fabrics to create a look.

Apart from this challenge, the students were also given an individual trend for them to interpret through their fashion styling skills. Watch out for those photos which will be evaluated on the last day of the workshop.
