Despite the decline of violent crimes in the US between 1990 and 2009, the populations of private prisons shot up 1,600 percent.

Brilliant! This man goes undercover and pretends to be homeless, and when offered help -- he instead rewards the person.

Yogi Omar was so strapped for cash that he nearly didn’t help a scruffy panhandler who asked him for change on a Vancouver street corner just after midnight Thursday.

This is the greatest story I've heard in a long time.

A NYC based software engineer named Patrick offered a homeless man named Leo a choice: He would either give him $100, or teach him how to become a computer programmer.

The engineer faced an uproar of criticism from naysayers all over the internet, but went along with his plan anyway. Leo accepted the challenge of learning how to code.

Several weeks later, Leo is finishing up his first app, and has already received a job offer!

Human beings were born to exert energy; to create, to give back. Poverty is not our natural state of existence. A little guidance and belief in someone can make all of the difference in shaping a better world.

Let's shout about this from the rooftops.
