Local is, in every way, a product of its place, local in every sense–local farmers and local tastes, local vendors and local artisans, local community and local people. Our often-changing menu presents sophisticated, fresh, and direct cooking of the best of the markets and ranches.
Please see our website for the current menu.

Local serves dinners Tuesday - Saturday evenings. We create our menu from the peak season, California vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. We pour only natural, Californian wines.

Food was excellent. First time that I saw coffee roasted carrots on a menu :-) Pretty amazing! The marinated squid with kumquats was awesome too. Only criticism I have is that the brussels sprouts were just a bit salty and it took some waiting to get seated despite a reservation. But the wait was more than worth it!

Food wasn't great for the price point. Servers are nice, but for the price point you shouldn't have to bus your own table. Plus i saw one of the kitchen staff pick his nose which is unsanitary.

Everything is good here! Went on a Wednesday night expecting it to be packed but it wasn't. The service was average. The best dish (surprisingly) was the cucumber salad! Nothing was terrible. Had the pumpkin funnel cake which was a bit burnt on one half but overall was good.

We keep looking for a restaurant that will (in some way) go toe to toe with Blue Plate and Serpentine (those are two of our favorite 'American New' in San Francisco). And we keep thinking that it's an unfair proposition. Last night we found a contender. We had a late dinner reservation at Local Mission Eatery. We shared: Crispy green garlic fritters Roasted Carrots, Cauliflower, Raisins Gnocchi Trout Lemon, Thyme (deconstructed lemon merengue pie) We drank: Vermentino "Tendu" Malvasia Bianca Bebame Mil Amores The service was great, knowledgable and friendly. The food was wonderful, everything we ate was fantastic. It was also a really nice experience to share several small plates and experience more of what Local Mission Eatery had to offer vs. the tradition restaurant dinner of two mains and possibly an app and dessert. The wines were nice. We sat at the counter, it's always one of my favorite places to sit in a restaurant. Lots to see, and I love to watch people cook. A bonus for me, in a male dominated profession, it's always fantastic to see a female chef in the kitchen. We'll definitely be back!

Maybe they were short staffed tonight, but service was bad enough to spoil the meal despite a fantastic menu. Right off the bat, we got the feeling we were inconveniencing them by showing up. Then they forgot an appetizer course, got the drinks wrong, didn't offer drinks when they were empty and things were generally not timed well.

Changing menu using local market produce. Sharing plate concept, but fairly large portions. Good beer selection, friendly service and a great atmosphere.

Good on them for using local produce! Service was real good, food was not so real good. Chocolate cake was more Death Valley dry than Yosemite moist. Chicken breast was succulent, with crisp skin, but for 28 bucks I'd expected more than a quarter of a breast. Beetroot & cucumber salad was very nice. With bigger portions, and tighter cooking, this place would deserve another visit

The decor of this place really embodies the food and ambience - it's elegant, but cozy, filled with plants on a living wall and restored woods, with art of local artisans on the wall. And a food library that encourages you to feel at home. And then the food - knocks me off my feet every time. From an elegant Valentine's Dinner to quick lunch - the food is fresh, unique and awesome.
