Award-winning reporter Casey Ferrand, a New Orleans native, joined WDSU in November of 2012 as a general assignment reporter. You can catch her on WDSU weeknights and weekends.
Before returning home, Casey worked at KIAH in Houston, TX as a multi-media journalist (videographer, producer and editor) for the station's revolutionary newscast called Newsfix. She was also a fill-in anchor on the morning news show Eye Opener.
Casey made her way around North Louisiana before moving to the Lone Star State, beginning her career at KTVE in Monroe, LA as a General Assignment Reporter. After only eight months there, she moved on to Shreveport, LA where she took on the role of Assignment Education Reporter at KTBS 3 News. Within two years, she became a weekend anchor.
The Louisiana native received two Bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Psychology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in May 2007. During college, she interned at WDSU and worked alongside seasoned reporters covering the aftermath and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Katrina.
After her internship at WDSU, Casey's goal has been to return home and work at the station that helped grow her love of reporting. She's happy to finally be home and working in the city that raised her. If you have any great story ideas, Casey would love to hear them.
